RE: Bush to Liberty
Not a bad choice but wouldn't have been my first or a top choice.

RE: Bush to Liberty
His family certainly knows his way around the campus. I was there when Jeb's dad spoke to us.

RE: Bush to Liberty
Bush is as close to a bipartisan Republican as you can find from the little knowledge I see of him. But this isn't about politics. I don't think this is pushing the envelope at all.

RE: Bush to Liberty
I think the GOP candidates just like how all the students have to attend :)

It would be nice for a Republican candidate to have a new platform instead of recycling GOP platforms from 20 or 30 years ago.

Pushing the envelope as in getting the university attention. Not in a controversial way. Bush is using the LU pulpit as an attention getter like Cruz, and the school is allowing him to do that. It's not bad, it's just the way things are. In a broad view, it helps that LU can attract such high profile speakers.

One would hope our choices would be beyond a 3rd Bush or a 2nd Clinton.

RE: Bush to Liberty
Liberty will always attract the top Republican leaders and due to who Liberty is and who most of the alumni and supporters are- the Republican base. That's not going to change anytime soon or hopefully ever. Liberty and any other school shouldn't change who they are for football.

Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz and their colleagues are non-issues in our FBS pursuit. The real issue the SBC schools have with us, again in my opinion, is that we are a wealthy private school and they are a state school league. I don't think our faith or politics has hurt us with them, it may not have helped us- but I don't think they really care about that.
