New Football Players are on Campus
http://www.emueagles.com/news/2015/6/26/...h=football

Class for Summer Session II begin today. Players moved in yesterday.

BTW, nice video of the players coming through the tunnel and being introduced. CC does seem to have a real knack for how to handle things.

I'm a firm believer if an organization does the right things, it will become successful in due time...

So they work (and we wait) for about 5 or 6 weeks for formal practices to begin.

Is this the first 'unofficial' thread of the 2015 football season (pre-season version).

I'm curious as to whether all 32 are scholarship players.

I'd be surprised if they are all scholarship, most likely a handful of preferred walk-ons. For instance, while watching the video I heard them announce the quarterback from South Lyon Anton Skupin, I don't remember his name being on any of the releases and from what i can find he wasn't highly recruited. But he has good size and we need depth at quarterback. I imagine the only three scholarship quarterbacks on the team will be Bell, Roback, and Pensyl. Leaving Skupin and Alsobrooks as our scout and emergency quarterbacks.

The scholarship max is 25 + any holdover scholarships given in December (which count back to 2014 rather than 2015).

So the max would be 25 + say 2 or 3 December signees. The rest would be walk-ons...

What some get confused on, is that Dec JUCO signees can count back to the prior year. So they are essentially 1/2 year 2014 recruits; just didn't do fall semester... but do the 2nd semester of the 2014/15 academic year...

I read in a college football magazine this mourning that they think we have a chance of going 6-6. That is if our defence can keep the other team from scoring as much as Bell. Which is the case for most teams.

Super - I think that's the high end of things. Could happen. Might happen.
