Great information.

Here is a YouTube on Jaksic. Has an outside shot.

EagleSam would call him a 'stretch5' Lol.

Wow. Very nice touch for a big man. Doesn't seem like a "stiff" either. I wonder why it didn't work out at Grand Canyon?

RE: EMU Hoops Spring Signing Period
I like to look at stats, etc. and try to 'find a story or theme or storyline' for a player...

What I find is that he only played one conference game, for whatever reason... Don't know if he was injured or some other reason. I assume he was available to play 2nd semester... He only played 13 games this past season, including 2 minutes in one conference game. (see the stats for the season and stats for the conference play).

Anyway, as far as development, he has been out of h.s. two years and he played 1/2 of one season. Lot of development to come.

I find this information interesting, but I really, really think the Jaksic information is wrong. He has been out of h.s. only two years.

"Undecided Transfers eligible to play next year:

"Barry Hayes ‏@hoopstarscanada · 16h16 hours ago

The good thing for Jaksic is that he gets to play in 2015-16 and after playing 1/2 season during the last two year, playing is important, I'd think.

It appears that Daryl LeVert 6'8 from Mott CC still hasn't signed. Has or had 2 Div I offers and some looks from other MAC schools.

My favorite is J.P. Kambola (Marshall) from that list.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketba...jp-kambola

For whatever reason(s), he played essentially one whole season and small fractions of two others. Not sure of the story(s) here.

What I would like to see happen (big if because it is like drawing an inside straight in poker):

1). EMU get a graduate eligible transfer for 15/16

2). Sign Jaksic for 2016/17 after he completes his stint at the JUCO. Would have two years to play two.

What a joke07-coffee3 man has that worked great the last 3 years! 17 seniors and grad students and what do we have to show for it? Lower attendance, no ncaa, no nit, only 2 bids to second rate pay to play tournaments in which we barely showed up!

Agree. EMU basketball is a house of cards. No solid foundation as we have a coach who is either unable or unwilling to recruit high school players. The quick fix rarely if ever works.

RE: EMU Hoops Spring Signing Period
Ah guys its working better than it did under Boone and Ramsey. The first 20 win season was no fluke, we played a tough schedule. Last year's 20 win season well not as tough but we did beat Michigan. Other schools are starting to recruit transfers look at MSU and Indiana for example. This was unheard of two or three years ago at these schools. This year's class includes 3 JUCOs who are more the traditional two year transfers. Again Murphy and staff try to recruit Michigan high school kids but I agree with you they seem to be challenged in doing so. Creighton isn't having much luck either we're the only MAC football team with no verbals so far, hard to close the GAP when other MAC schools have several.

'79, I agree with your analysis.

What Murphy did a couple years ago, steal some nice transfers, is much tougher to do now as EVERYONE is looking at transfers and a lot of transfers are 'moving on up' to higher conferences and programs. Almost shocking to see multiple CLE State players play with marque teams. I believe: Forbes (MSU), Lewis (L'ville), Grady (Wichita State), etc. Oh, my!!

Interesting, but I think the emphasis on transfers is opening up some opportunities in the JUCO ranks.

It is getting harder and harder to sit on a bunch of scholarships in April and clean up with transfers as so many teams are losing players (to transfer) and opening up scholarships themselves.

The whole mercenary transfer thing is precisely what is killing college basketball. When the going gets tough, the weak transfer. I hate it and so does Tom Izzo. Changes need to be made.

Izzo may hate it but he is milking the cow pretty good. Forbes (played in 2014/15 - no sitout) and Harris (sat out 2014/15).

Harris is expected to be an impact player next season.

He has gotten a couple of guys, as you pointed out--lost some too, but I have read that he is not a fan of it...Forbes was pretty good, Harris is going to be outstanding.

I don't disagree with this. Especially in regard to the grad transfers getting immediate eligibility. That rule is going to change pretty soon. It's basically a way for the big schools to poach the studs at smaller schools for one season.

I have no issue with JUCOs though.

Harris thrived under Bob Huggins. Should be no different under Izzo. Both expect the best out of you. Even after the Swanigan debacle, Michigan State should still be really, really good next season.

Not to get the thread too off topic.

This article appears to be pre-season (2014) about Toney's team. Nice write up on Toney.
