Phil Steele's projected top 10
#1 OHIO ST
#2 TCU
#3 ALABAMA
#4 BAYLOR
#5 OREGON
#6 MICH ST
#7 USC
#8 FLORIDA ST
#9 AUBURN
#10 GEORGIA
seems pretty reasonable. Think Ohio St/TCU will be the easy top 2 this year going in.

Haven't the last 2 titles been won by QBs in their first season at the school?

RE: Phil Steele's projected top 10
I agree with him.....I think Ohio State repeats actually....I think they're a budding dynasty
I think this year the Alabama invincibility finally wears off....too many pieces to replace. you can't start a new QB every year, eventually you'll end up with a Chris Rix or Ron Powlus
FSU has to replace key pieces....so I think they're out as well
Two teams I like this year? Clemson and LSU
Clemson is primed for a run at the playoff....they have a decent schedule with lots of home games. They get FSU and Notre Dame at home
LSU has the schedule to make a run as well...Miles needs to make a run if he wants to stay relevant in the SEC West

Clemson has so much going for them, but every year that Clemson is primed for a run they find a way to pull a major choke job and then it is a few years until they are primed for a major run....and repeat

Poor QB at LSU may be their drawback next season.

One thing about Clemson that is bad is they have a very early bye. Could play 10 straight weeks to end the year. With last 2 @ South Carolina and then the ACC title game...

WVU starts Big XII play with Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor, and TCU in the first 4 conference games, in that order. The Mountaineers will either be out of the picture after that, or one of the nation's biggest surprises.

LSU looks good but I got my eye on Arkansas to win the SEC West this year.

This. (Though for both Winston and Jones, it was technically their first year playing; neither played as a true freshman.)

That sounds like a typical SMU OOC schedule.
I hope you do better than the Ponies.

Gotta get past Ga Southern first. We will come to win and hopefully the Mountaineers will overlook us.

well, they've also racked up wins over Ohio State, LSU, and Oklahoma, Georgia, South Carolina, and Auburn
not too shabby...they need to beat FSU to contend. Dabo has them headed in the right direction...their D last year was stifling

that's their drawback EVERY year...but they ooze talent, so they get by....
For all the hoopla about the Mississippi schools last year, I think its important for the Tigers to compete for the SEC....Anti-LSU fans have been talking about a "decline" for awhile, but the talent is still showing up in Baton Rouge. They have to produce though....

ya, I like Arkansas as a darkhorse....
Here's their schedule....certainly not easy
http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-15/sec/2...hedule.phpest
I think they should start off 4-0 with the road game @ Tennessee before the big one at Tuscaloosa....somewhat of a trap game before the big game.
Then they get a break, and then its the SEC gauntlet head on....
I think they get tough match-ups at the wrong times from SEC East opponents....
the SEC West is so loaded lately, so its really about how your schedule falls....I know Arkansas is physical, but they'll be running on fumes those last few weeks guaranteed
