No, don't need that type of player. And lets remember one thing, the freshmen will get better as they mature into sophomores.

Unless a big man is extremely talented (and if he is, he probably is looking at bigger schools), he is probably looking at UAB and realize he is not going to be getting much playing time behind Lee and Mehinti.

We will probably be the biggest team in the conference next year. I doubt we see a team that looks like UCLA more than twice next year. I'm really high on Sulivan's potential, and someone brainwashed Madison to think he is 6-9, so I think we don't necessarily need another big. It would be a bonus. That's why I thought we should go after a project big, but that isn't Haase's philosophy. I won't be disappointed if we don't sign a big.

We have no players signed after the 2017-18 year. I hope Watts hasn't told Haase not to sign anyone because he is killing the program.

Modus operandi says to check to see if we've scheduled anyone past that date

Assuming we fill all our schollys this year, Robert Brown will be the lone senior on the team. That being said, there would only be one opening.

I don't think that's true. UTEP has a 6'8" and 6'10" guy coming in. ODU has a 6'8", 7', and 7'3" guy coming in. Even unt has a 6'11" guy coming in. Obviously we don't know how any of these will pan out yet, but there are other teams in the conference with size.

Madison can fill in spot minutes as a power forward, but what if someone goes down to an injury?

Sullivan could probably play a little bit at the power forward as well, but he is lanky, soft on defense, and lacks Lee's or Cokley's athleticism around the rim. Again, what if someone goes down to an injury?

Cokley is also not a good defender right now.

Don't forget, one of our three "big men" is extremely foul prone.

We need more size and depth at the forward positions, there's no bones about it IMO.

Well I know we don't win any big men contests based on weight. Didn't think that needed to be stated.

Mitchell was on a leash in what time he did play at UA. He never got to play his game.

He was a 3 or 4 star guy depending on which site you used. Had offers from cincy, Georgia, Kansas state, Memphis, ole miss, and Miami according to ESPN. Was touted as a very good scorer coming out of high school. He is definitely a guy we should add for numerous reasons if we get the chance.

Also remember Lacey didn't exactly shine at bama either.

He was bound for UAB til Coleman came up with the fab 5. Coleman said lets go to UA, he followed. Coleman & Mitchell played on the same AAU team once. UAB lead for Mitchell & Garrett til Coleman committed to UA.

Curious about the Dazon situation. A lot of big names got floated out there but he's only been offered by 3? Sounds like some one in his camp leaked all those names in hopes that one of them would actually jump forward and offer him. If Bama, Wichita, and Houston are his only offers, it would appear he is going to Bama.

every one that wants Dazon wants him as a SG. Dazons size makes him oversized to play the point & he nearly averages a triple double. He wants to play the point. So, Johnson told Mitchell to leave if he wants playing time & couldn't hold on to Tarrant. Some ppl on the Bama board think they lose Garrett too, but think they are high on kouassi's list. Johnson is clearing room for Dazon & Malik Newman.
