Pastners best lineup
I'd go with Black, Coleman/Weatherspoon, Will Barton, Crawford, and JJ......young lineup. The 4 kings and Shaq/Nichols ok but no chemistry....next year's lineup looks as good as any...Burrell is really good.

Quote:After averaging 7.4 points and 6.3 rebounds a game, he's one of the few Lakers players expected to return next year. Earlier this week, he had 19 rebounds against Dallas, the most by a Lakers rookie since Leroy Ellis in 1963.
His end-of-season meeting Thursday with Lakers General Mitch Kupchak and Coach Byron Scott went well, Black said.
"They definitely praised me for the potential that I have. That’s a big thing with them," Black said.
Seems to do a credit to our city. Good for him.

That was probably his best team: Will Barton's sophomore year.

TB has a degree from our university and clearly made a good move to transfer.

Seriously?!?! No.
The kid graduated from the school and transferred b/c he needed a change of pace. He served our fanbase well for three years and left just in time to give more minutes to both Shaq Goodwin and pick up David Pellom, a player that was not as good as Black but was a more willing dirty work player that better complemented the drives and ball movement of the '4 kings' team.
Black needed to operate on the block to be offensively effective and admittedly doesn't have fantastic passing ability or hands. The case can be made that David Pellom was an upgrade on fit over Black for that team despite Black being more talented individually.
If I'm trying to rile people you'll know.

That team was fun to watch. I saw them at the Cusa tourney and they looked the Globetrotters at times, and made the rest of the field look like the Generals, lol.

Remember the 1-3-1 zone that we played that season? I loved that defensive wrinkle and our personnel really ran it well. I'm surprised we haven't seen something like it since, perhaps it was the brainchild of Murphy.
Regardless, Will Bartin had one of the singular best seasons that any individual Tiger has had for a long time.

The best team Josh had was the one that imploded on the court .... And in the stands up in Columbus.

RE: Pastners best lineup
We have bad several good lineups in recent years...and for the most part those teams won a lot of games and did pretty well, although recognizable a bit short of what was hoped for which was why a predictable down year this immediate last season was met with such painful vitriol.

In what world would Adonis Thomas be before Will Barton or Elliot Williams? I would take DJ over Adonis. Kid was a bust sorry no heart. Prob the most overated player to ever come out of memphis. He was a top ten kid coming out of hs. One guy had him as the number one prospect in that class. What a waste of talent.

No need to talk about him like that. He's not the only talented kid to come in lately and not develop.
