How would they suddenly got to $40M. I think a lot of times we confuse what is happening on the academic side with what is happening on the athletic side. Apples and oranges. If Liberty were going to subsidize their athletic program to the tune of $40M a year, what's to stop them from doing that now?

I'm calling it now. Liberty beats GaSt in the Dome, and parades onto the field banners proclaiming "fellowship hall west".

If baffles me that Panama can claim Liberty is going to be a gimme "FCS tuneup" game when 1) Liberty beat App who beat the brakes off of GaSt and 2) There are several FCS teams that are a better squad than GaSt, and Liberty happens to be in that top or 2nd to top tier of FCS football teams now.

Yall may not be playing NDSU, but you sure as hell ain't playing Presbyterian.

He certainly is the most passionate fan for a winless FBS team. His dogged determination is something all can admire. Tune up though is a stretch.

Ga State may beat Liberty, but it'll be far from a tune up. While we lost a couple guys on the Ol and DL and a great safety, we return our qb, both rb's and probably the best wr the school has ever had. We also start the year off playing in Morgan town, so there'll no intimidation factor playing an FBS school in front of maybe 5,000 fans, with half being Liberty supporters.

If I was a betting man, I would expect Liberty to be the favorite. Even though there will be no betting line, Liberty will be the favorite.

The ironic part is that this game will likely hurt Liberty more if they lose than if GaSt loses.

Nothing like hate for GSU to bring the SBC and Liberty fans together.

You could call that hate, but I think that's not the right term at all.

Panama is talking down to a program that has more Sun Belt wins than you guys do, and a significantly more impressive resume like they aren't worth of being on the same grass. It is completely feasible that they could be favored.

Reality can be a real mother sometimes.

Hate is a little strong. How about trying to create some buzz for a mostly unexciting, uneventful game played between a recent FCS call up team, whose now FBS, that is seeking it's first FBS win, and a wanna be FBS team wanting to make a statement showing that the App win was not a fluke. I'm guessing that is going to be the story line about the game.

It's strange how GaSt has an FCS tuneup in October scheduled the same day that Liberty has an FBS tuneup scheduled. Must be some sort of scheduling error.

Now that caused a chuckle. I will admit I had to read it twice to be sure I was reading what I thought I read.

I'm a little slow here. Can you explain your post? What does it have to do with the topic at hand? I'm missing something.

So it's the 4th game of the season and coming off a bye. If we lose to Charlotte and Liberty then Miles is fired which hey I am cool with that outcome too. But I don't think that I am going out on a limb to say that SBC schools should not be losing to FCS schools and in fact last year we didn't, But GS fans do continue to fall for New Times smoke and mirrors.

Its a cookbook!
