Good job. You're quite a natural. You forgot to mention the refs blew half the games for NIU because the MAC doesn't want NIU to do well in basketball. :) I did see 2 typos - I'll include if you care.

Absolutely. Better you tell me than everyone else read them haha. I even have an editor, but he must have missed them too.

Can we please move on with Highsmith. I am getting tired of hearing about the promise one return. Every team has players that get hurt but the future does look bright.

3 years ago I completely wrote David Brown off. He basically was injured for 2 1/2 seasons. I was convinced he would never see minutes again and his knees betrayed him.

Similar type situation with Highsmith. Hopefully he bounces back from it.

RE: NIU Basketball Season Recap
I don't think Highsmith's return this year is quite as important as it once was, especially with this recruiting class. NIU is not winning the MAC next year anyway, Buffalo has one more year reign on that. But this class and maybe Highsmith's eventual health for the 2016-17 is really amazing to think about. NIU may have its own version of the fab five 2 years from now. Having said that, I really want to see Wilson sign before I go delirious.

RE: NIU Basketball Season Recap
Buffalo did not win the regular season, in the MAC. They are not a lock. CMU returns their whole team. Akron will be pretty good. Dontel's return is important to him! It has to be mentally challenging for him. If, he can make it back in December, I believe he will play.

It will be either CMU or Buffalo, I am quite confident the championship game is a rematch next year.

RE: NIU Basketball Season Recap
Actually, it will be the second year in a row. Dontel played 11-games in 2013-14 then was out. We knew his season was over. 2014-15, we thought he would be back in December. Now, for his sake, I hope he makes it back this coming December.

RE: NIU Basketball Season Recap
In 13-14 he went out in October-November and the early talk that year was that he would be back for the conference schedule. This is the 3rd yr in my book.

RE: NIU Basketball Season Recap
Dontel got hurt in the 2nd half of the Iowa State game in Ames on New Year's Eve (Dec. 31) 2013........it was known within a week that it was an ACL and out for the rest of the year at least.

RE: NIU Basketball Season Recap
Dontel got hurt on December 31st of 2013 against Iowa St. He was injured in the last two minutes of that game. As, Cagey said, it was known in a week that his season was over.

OK, we've only been waiting 2 years instead of three. The point I'm trying to make is that we've been waiting a h***uva long time.

Who cares how long we've been waiting! It's all about Dontel's health. Basketball is a huge part of this kids life. He is a great kid, so hopefully at some point he can return.

RE: NIU Basketball Season Recap
I think a benefit of his comeback this time around is that there is a lot less pressure for him. We've brought in/are bringing in an outstanding recruiting class and clearly are going to be able to function without him. But he is no longer the "only hope" for the program, there are pieces around him which makes his return even lower key
