#FreeUAB
I went to a middle school math tournament at Berry Middle School after the event at legion field and I wore a #FreeUAB t-shirt. I was stopped twice by individuals wanting to know more about the movement and a bus driver asked if the team would be back by 2016 because he enjoyed Coach Bill Clark brand of football. Lets keep the fight because I think we are winning the public over.

I went to Avondale Brewery after the Sons of UAB game on Saturday and I got so many Free UAB shouts to me and people asking about the movement. We have much more support than the supposed "vocal minority."

I was at a conference in South Alabama last week wearing a UAB hat and UAB Football t-shirt. I was stopped numerous times and told how despicable the killing football deed was. They all felt our pain and hoped football would return. Same thing happened on Sunday while getting my car serviced in Homewood...

Good to hear these stories. If they're any indication of public sentiment, the biggest challenge the bills in Montgomery will face won't be voter approval but rather just making it out of their respective committees.

I was in Augusta at the golf tournament , wearing my Blazer gear as usual. Saw G-Mac a couple of times and we exchanged "Go Blazers". I spoke with a former high football coach from south Georgia who mentioned to me that he thought shutting down football was a crazy thing to do and that it was going to hurt college football in general. Some others, UGA fans, commented about getting one of our former players ( Jake Ganus ). A couple of other times, strangers saw my UAB attire and commented that they were sorry to hear about the football program's problems.

Last Saturday, an employee at the Home Depot in Hoover saw me in my Free UAB shirt and asked what the deal was, because I was the 3rd or 4th customer she'd seen wearing one in the store.

My Daughter's elementary school class went on a field trip to Montgomery week before last. They did the usual tour, and were standing on the steps of the Capitol building getting a group picture, when who should show up (prearranged) to greet the children but Governor Robert Bentley!

I had this conversation with my daughter about it:

"Honey, did Governor Bentley talk with you and your classmates?"

"Yes sir, he talked with us, and he rubbed Oliver's hair, and said he used to have a cowlick too."

"Did you get to talk with him?"

"Yes sir."

"What did you tell him honey?"

"I told him Free UAB."

Love that kid......

While dropping off my grandson at preschool last week, the guy in the car behind me yelled, "Go Blazers!" I have a #FreeUAB sticker on my back window. The guy then handed me a t-shirt/jersey from the sons of UAB football spring game. He said his company, TJC Mortgage, sponsored the game. I believe he said he played for UAB.

2 of the 3 partners in that firm are former Blazer football players. Great guys!!! Get your mortgages financed ( or refinanced ) with em when you can!

The UAB people are more united than anyone I know could have ever imagined. I truly thank the BOT for that.

I had a UAB conversation twice this past weekend in Atlanta. One was at the Georgia Aquarium and the other at Six Flags. Both were very supportive of UAB and it's athletes.

They're winning.

Its only fragmentation to those who want it to be. People can see that the board is corrupt and saying they are a fan of a free UAB or #freeUAB is pretty much the same thing. How is it fragmenting the fan base? You can not be a fan of football but support a free UAB or not be a fan of any sport but support a free UAB.

I ran into an older woman last year at a Duke football game before Watts dropped the axe. She said she use to worked at UAB and she hated what was going on then.

Some people think that the school can go to crap & the basketball team still be as great as it can be.

I certainly disagree.

With the administration in place you will not see full support of any program.

IMO, you are talking about a dozen fans. There are thousands of supporters that really get it.
