RE: OT: Game Of Thrones (SPOILERS)
Ive read them, and I am thinking about getting the audio book as well, but they are expensive.

I just started reading them again last night.

great idea! There's so much more material that had been left out if the books. Also on a positive note. Martin said book 6 and book 7 will be 1500 pages each. Rank the 5 books in order would be fun too: 1. Dance with Dragons, 2. Feast for crows 3.A Game of thrones.

That was a worst to best ranking...right? 03-lmfao 04-cheers

haha...what's your favorite of the 5 so far?

I mean, it has to be Storm, right? Meatiest of them as far as plot development and story alterations.

Hope this isn't correct but the next book is four years away?

That is definitely not correct. After some of the alterations made by the production team of GoT (specifically killing Barristan Selmy who will actually be a POV character in the newest book), Martin has gotten a little perturbed and is trying to finish the next one to publication by the opening of the next season:

He should've already had it out but probably by end of the year. Still will know who win's the throne before it's in book form.

You never know...HBO has said publicly that they want 8 seasons. If he gets this one done before Season 6 starts up, he's got two full calendar years which is roughly the time it took him to write both Clash and Storm, so it is conceivable, and he's probably got a large chunk of it written already, since the beginning and then end are always the first things authors get done.

Watch them try to draw it out for longer if the ratings hold up.

Smart business move, I mean, they are completely viewer driven with zero advertising revenue. If you can push it and gain even more of an audience (they had over 7M for the finale...at $14.99/month a pop) then they should do it...and I bet the showrunners probably do want to hold off on spoiling the crap out of the books too if they have any chance at not doing so.
