I was impressed with Golladay and Deuce. Not too impressed with the QB play, especially Graham. But it's just a practice.

The best weather I have ever experienced in Huskie Stadium. I did not want to leave.

Did I miss something? There was supposed to be an event for paid up ST holders at the BAVC after the game. We sauntered over there and it was dark and no one was there. The rooms were dark and locked. No signs either. Another blown opportunity to please the donors? We just walked out.

It was in the Barsema Hall of Champions just like last year.

Is that in the Yordon? I thought it was in the BAVC. All the damn Barsemas sound alike!

It's the hallway between the Yordon and CPC. Gotta name something else after the man after he gave a mil for the CPC!

RE: Spring practice review and notes.
There was a great crowd there on this beautiful day, I'm guessing 2 to 3 thousand. That's about all I got out of the day, enjoying the sunshine. The play on the field was not good, I believe mostly due to hodgepodge lineups facing each other and numerous starters sitting out. They were going to go 7 possessions each from the 25 yard line but here were so many short possessions they went 9 each. It didn't matter. Timing on routes was off all day and there were several bad snaps and blown plays where the QB had to eat it. I got little out of today's proceedings and it makes me wonder whether the players and coaches did either. What does it prove when you scrimmage and one team has two 150 pound walkons at tailback? The coaches seem to like this format but I would much rather see the ones against the ones like a regular scrimmage, just my opinion. Like I said, I don't see what anyone gains from today. If you're going to risk injury by going live why not do it in a way that gets them better. Seems like kind of a wasted day to me.

RE: Spring practice review and notes.
The wife and I just got back from the spring game. We both felt it was an awful waste of a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

The pre-game "Block Party" was pretty much a bust. People in line to get food at the food truck advised us to move on, as most of them had been waiting to get their food for twenty minutes (and that was after they had already paid for it). Other than the one food truck and an ice cream stand, I didn't see any other place to get any food on site. Also, no beer tent!?!? We ended leaving the "Block Party" and walked to Fatty's for food and beer.

The atmosphere at the game was just BLAH. No band, no cheerleaders, no mascot, no Silverette's, no national anthem, no ROTC. The fight song was never played, not even a recorded version of it. But oh yes, we were treated to a lecture on gay and transgender rights on two separate occasions on the video board. The poor guy behind me with his two little girls making their first visit to Huskie Stadium was just thrilled with that!

We went to the donors event after the game. My wife and I have increased our donation each of the past three years, but did anyone on staff bother to introduce themselves to us as we came in, let alone says thanks??? NO. Twenty minutes into the event, they were still setting up the food, so we just had a drink and high-tailed it out of there.

I don't want to sound like a complainer (though I realize that I do!), but with a few simple and cheap improvements the atmosphere would have been a thousand times better.
-Have the band, or at least some portion of the band there.
-Why no cheerleaders?
-Need a beer tent or someone serving beer at the pre-game.
-Need more than one food vendor. Nobody wants to wait twenty minutes for a damn grilled cheese sandwich.
-Lose the stupid political PSA's during the game. I came to have fun and watch football, not get a lecture.
-Play the fight song!!! Show some highlights from last year on the video board. Get the crowd excited about NIU football.
-Play the damn fight song during the game!!!
