Damn that sucks
Based on the remaining games of both teams. It looks very likely that if the Griz do not beat the Clippers they could end up losing the division title the last week of the season. May even come down to last game. Should have expected SA to go on a big run right before playoffs. Right now i am a large Pelican fan. If the win their last game all the Griz need is to win one of the final three to take the title. Right now Griz have a 9-7 div record compared to 8-7 for Spurs.

Then you have Rockets who are only a game behind. Depending on how thing s turn out this last week the Griz could end up not only losing the div title they could also lose Home Court for playoff and end up as low as a 6th seed.

RE: Damn that sucks
I really don't have much confidence in winning tonight's game. Clippers have been off for three days and we played last night.

Conley may be out till the POs as well. We'll probably be playing without Conley and TA the rest of the regular season. It's going to be tough. My hunch is we go 1-2 and end up with the 6 seed playing the Clippers.

It doesn't "suck"...it's the reality of playing in the best division in basketball. There are no soft teams and no nights off in the southwest.

if not #2, just win at home and hope that Houston loses once more.....then we'd be the 5th seed vs. POR

Spurs weren't playing possum. They were injured for the first half of the year. Parker and Leonard are now healthy that's why they look like the Spurs again.

Could easily be a 4-team tie with the Grizzlies, Clippers, Spurs and Rockets. Grizzlies and Clippers are the only ones that can control their destiny by winning out.

I'd rather be healthy at number 6, than limping in having spent 110% and being exhausted just to eke a #2 seed, and have little left. At least 6 teams would be tough matchups, maybe even all 7. Being the #2 wouldn't ease our path. Not having home court would be an obstacle though. I do get that the division title is an accomplishment in itself...

If the Grizz finish 6th, it will be incredibly demoralizing and they will lose in the first round.

#2 seed plays the Mavericks. That is certainly an advantage. 6 seed could possibly play the Spurs. Let someone else duke it out with the Spurs. #5 seed isn't bad but we would get Golden State in the next round. Finish the Mavericks in 4 games and let the players get rested although resting seems to hurt rather than to help us this year.

We're going to get Spurs or GSW in the second round whether we're 2nd or 5th. Just need to stay out of that 6 spot.

Most likely but it does allow for someone else to upset them in the first round or even an injury to occur like Westbrook getting injured a couple of years ago.
