If Chris Jans had been complaining about his parking spot, I would be as equally unforgiving as Pono.
But as this is so far an isolated incident of misogyny for which he has apologized profusely and publically and he almost got his azz kicked by first a girl and then by her family, I'm willing to let the guy move on to someplace new until such time a major investigation substantiates Pono's accusations. If those accusations are substantiated, I'm all for having him thrown into OHIO women's prison, or a BGSU dorm and he can see if his smooth moves and apologies work any better there.
I don't really care about the guy but I hope it makes Pono feel we weren't disregarding his opinion nor were we (or I anyhow) intending to give the guy a free pass. I think we're mostly all glad Jans separation was done quickly and decisively, even if his retention would have made our rivals look even worse.
I would have loved to seen a dark storm cloud linger over bg, to match the smell over the next few months. Especially during signing season........

I'm pretty sure you are incorrect in saying he didn't break the law. I'm no lawyer but from what I understand unwanted touching of that area of the body (and others) is referred to in Ohio as "sexual imposition" and is most certainly against the law.
Now, the police are probably not gonna charge somebody with that unless the offended party files a complaint, which most people are not gonna go though the trouble of doing, but just because he wasn't charged, doesn't mean he didn't do something illegal.

Pono 1+ on the Cross comment. That was the dumpster fire of all dumpster fires. Besides he couldn't coach a cyo team in the "C" league and win.

Looks like Parker, Dickerson and at least one committed recruit are looking for greener pastures via transfer. This could easily prove to be a Crossian debacle. Only 1 of BG's top 6 scorers return and that's Denny who was a lousy shooter.

RE: Chris Jans Issues Statement
well, guys, i wasn't trying to start a war. mostly just being silly with the spooning comment, but found it a bit funny and troubling that as soon as the BG coach made a typical after the fact generic apology that several Rocket posters seemed to jump to his defense. personally, i think there's 3 levels of men sexually harassing women. 1) coming on to a woman too hard or in a sloppy or sorta inappropriate way and making her uncomfortable/pissed off. 2) the Chris Rock angle, doing the same kinda thing, but generally getting away with it because the guy is good looking or funny. 3) Disrespecting, groping, humiliating or belittling a woman in a dehumanizing kind of way. Levels 1 or 2 might be given an occasional pass due to drunkenness, loneliness, poor social skills... Level 3 is unacceptable anywhere and under any circumstance and being drunk is not an excuse. Jans clearly was on that level in this instance. Yes, the other instances (of which there are rumored to be many) I cannot substantiate nor want to research. I am guilty of a little message board hyperbole, but I don't forgive the guy. move on, dudes gone

RE: Chris Jans Issues Statement
So he apologized and your mindset is, "He's an a-hole, I don't care if he apologized." If he didn't apologize, your mindset would probably be, "What an a-hole, he won't even apologize."
It's a bad situation and he easily could have been bitter and fought it or been cowardly and avoided it (like Cross and many other coaches), but he swallowed his pride (which is tough for these coaches to do) and owned up to everything. Who cares how generic it is? He 'effed up, got caught, and came clean. That's a lot more than you'll get from people in general, much less egotistical college basketball coaches.
