I want to keep uab but only if football comes back. I'm sorry but if the school doesn't decide to have football I say goodbye. Dumb on his part to cancel it in the first place so hopefully uab will end up in a pitiful conference and the president gets removed quicker. And the next changes UABs direction.

It's not certain that C-USA would move to replace UAB.

I agree with Belief blazer on this one. Why should we add when the quality isn't there and the rules have changed?

I think we'll sit at 13 if UAB goes.

I've heard from several people that USA is very interested and that their President has already contacted some C-USA leaders. Doesn't mean it'll happen. Jags might not be so interested if the next C-USA tv numbers come back too low.

WKU's Beat writer has said on Twitter he thinks USA will be the replacement and has heard USA is making a push to join CUSA...He has been right before and would think his sources at WKU would be pretty strong on this matter..

Where are you seeing this?

To me this makes no sense at all. Makes baseball stronger I guess and the bball is decent. But Louisiana Lafayette is even better in both AND brings a better football program along with New Orleans bowl prospects....

EDIT: Ok now I see you cited a writer saying USA wants in. Well I bet ULL wants in too. There have been many reports of them wanting in CUSA. And they'd be a way better add.

Gotta grab ULL, Ark St or Georgia Southern to widen the gap from Sun Belt to CUSA.

I'd be surprised it is USA...doesn't look like they have the resources for CUSA

Most recent USA Today Athletic Budget #'s:
South Alabama $21,115,562

we are already double that number in FCS.

Re: UAB's C-USA fate decided June 8th
As of just a week and a half ago,USA was not one of the schools mentioned as one of the schools being in serious consideration. Just because a school wants in doesn't mean its a front runner or is under serious consideration. Still a lot of moving parts but unless something drastically changes, the presidents supposedly are not on board with the idea of allowing UAB to stay under a basketball only agreement from what I've heard.

Hate it for UAB. Love it for selfish reasons. I have heard from USA folks (donors) that they were in on the ground floor of CUSA1 then backed out at the last minute. Second chance?
