RE: CUSA to make decision on UAB in June
I think the alumni society should engage OSKR to present a plan to bring back the three sports based off publicly known data (NCAA)
and that will provide some level of leverage if the company out of Georgia decides to backup Carr's screw up. The NAS from this point forward must becom very vocal and assertive to combat Dr. Watts known style of lying.

Perhaps already in progress . After all, they completed over 1/4 of the work before they were terminated. Another $58K would cover them completing the effort. I would guess they already have the numbers (or at least access to them). I look for Watts to delay the decision until after June 8 or, at least, make negative statements toward FB return and further show disrespect to CUSA such that they have no choice but to kick UAB out. I think, though, that they won't do Watts' dirty work for him. They will give UAB a year to return football forcing Watts to endure further the wrath of the FREEUAB movement. Watts, though, seems to be hiding behind UAB basketball as he seems to have put future conference affiliation in the hands of Coach Haase who he will throw under the bus if he needs to.

Locate Loyola of Chicago and Belmont on a map and you will understand why they are good fits for the MVC. Then locate UAB of the map and notice the difference.

Yeah, and even Belmont is not really all that good of a good fit, but they are 200 miles closer than UAB.

Mobile is closer than any of these others. In this USA fan's ideal world ya'll join us in the Sun Belt and bring back football ASAP.
I'm old enough to remember you guys as awesome conference rivals and really looked forward to playing you when we finally got football.
Screw Bama for what they did to you. I hate your BOT.

Man I loved hating UAB (in a good way). Good grief, you guys must have beat us 20 times in a row in basketball. In one game, we had UAB beat. Had them beat. But no....UAB hits a freak basket at the buzzer to beat us. When we finally did beat you...pure class from Coach Bartow. He went over to one of the USA players (who he lost to USA in recruiting) and hugged him. Pure class.
Every game between us...massive crowds.
It might look like we're profiting from your misfortune. But we're not happy about it (someone needed to give those players a place to land). We remember that the state tried to screw with us too. I don't know how we managed to get the Machine to back off...but somehow we did.

It's not like we are traveling by covered wagon anymore.....take a look at c-usa and notice the RPI-killers we play out west - save UTEP which is roughly as close to Birmingham as MARS.
The fact that we will be shown the door by c-usa this summer is exactly why we should be working double time to nail down the MVC invite.

The C-USA board has mentioned the possibility of adding Army as a football-only member & allowing UAB to stay for all other sports.

Doubt it'd be Army as CUSA is looking westward not eastward (UNCC fills UAB's slot) & they've already had a CUSA slot but forget why they left

They went 9-41 in C-USA football games.
Granted, that was C-USA 1.0 with Louisville, TCU, etc., but still...

It's the CUSAbbs board... the place where everyone from our conference talks about UAB, EXCEPT UAB fans.

I don't think anyone here begrudges South for taking them in. Hell, I can't help thinking of them as refugees. I think you're going to be pleased with the contribution some of these guys make.

That thread is just idle speculation by fans. No link to any legitimate source.

RE: CUSA to make decision on UAB in June
Getting Army back would be cool, but I just can't see it happening.
Isn't part of the reason they opted out of being in conference was because playing football really became more of a matter of tradition and a formality than anything else? If that actually happened another thing would be that, when we eventually get our program back, the conference would be unbalanced again.
This is completely off topic, but I saw that Georgia State post and was surprised. I didn't know the Braves were leaving Turner Field. I thought it was pretty recent as far as baseball stadiums go.
