Simple request...
I wrote this early this a.m. as information was still coming in, I had dropped it into the young lady basketball player with the brain tumor thread, but it was getting kind of buried, thought I'd try a thread of it's own. If this is inappropriate, then feel free to move it, I simply spend as much time, good or bad (haha) interacting with some of you's lunkheads as I do with my own family during the day.

So, if you would give it a read and give this young man a little add-on in your evening prayer, meditation, shots competition or whatever it may be you do, any good vibe is something positive.

He's been moved to Miami via medi-vac or whatever they call it, but still on life support, in a coma and has lost half his skull in the surgeries. Known the kid since he was less than a year old.

Heartbreaking. Thanks!

We all too often don't take pause as friends, parents, aunts, uncles, teachers, coaches or whomever to take stock of how fortunate we are and how quickly all that can change.

I have no intention of taking away from this young ladies struggle, suffering or her families heartbreak, so if need be, someone please move this-

I'm not a big "prayer" guy, in all honesty I'm a poor C & E'er. But I do believe in the power of, well, something. Be it positive thought, good karma, energy flowing, something. To wit-

This kid I have known since he was in a stroller. Lives 4 houses up the cul-de-sac and he and my son have been close friends, skateboarders, bike riders, class mates and team mates since they were out of their strollers. Nigh on 12 years now. He's 16, my son turned 17 a month or so ago, Harrison will, or should, next month.

I have coached him since he was about 4 in soccer, football, swimming, lax, whatever and he's a talented kid, good student and generally good person.

He, and his mother, younger brother and sister lost Dad and Husband in a car wreck when he was about 6. Now this.

So, yea. Just thought I'd put it out here, as many of you are very generous with your prayers, this kid needs all he can get.

We can all pee and moan about the stupid stuff all day, but on occasion some perspective is useful.

Thanks! 03-thumbsup

Bump.

He hasn't improved. Still on life support, in a coma.

This, so far is the diagnosis from Miami. His Mother (single) will need to be there for weeks...

Quote:About 90% of survivors with severe diffuse axonal injury remain unconscious. The 10% that regain consciousness are often severely impaired.

It hasn't yet sunk in. 16 YO's old.
