That the singular store refused service isn't national news on it's own, but when it's during an ongoing debate about legislation solidifying that right, it tends to grab onto the national consciousness.

This story only had legs because it involved Islamic students and an american-positive film. If it had been Islamic/other religious students banning a movie that showed a nude woman, it wouldn't be any different in censorship, yet it wouldn't have made national news. So, like I said, the only reason Harbaugh tweeted this is because he could count on idiots thinking this was actual news.
