She definitely deserves it leading the NCAA in Homeruns with 19 and Homeruns per game at 0.54 as of April 6th

Someone who has her type of power (19 HR, 1.030 slugging) and can hit for great average (.420) is a very scary thing. Unless she drops off severely and someone else in the conference really shines, she will probably repeat as conference POY.

Not to jinx things, but the way she's going I think she'll at least match her 24 HR's from last year. That would put her close to 50 HR's in two years with the Cajuns after hitting ZERO in her one year at Texas Tech. It will be interesting to see if she can come close to the all time Cajun HR leader Danyele Gomez who has 83 total and 30 in one year.
