Nothing lecture-length, but just a nod to the past, instead of pretending like it's always been all sunshine and azaleas.

I don't think much of Tiger Woods as a person, with the whole cheating-on-his-wife business, but wouldn't it have been a shame if Tiger had been born thirty or forty years earlier and hadn't been able to play in the Masters, a la Charlie Sifford?

you obviously don't understand why the Masters is what it is....

that's a shame....

all of americana has suffered/dealt with strife of some sort....

it's a bummer you don't see that....

me and my golf bud would always look at each other after something bad happened and state, "can't get it back"

one either learns to move forward and achieve or look back and fail again....

Very well said.

he is starting to show a level of maturity that is unparalleled at his age....right now I have him in the category of a Johnny Miller

the benefit of growing up with Crenshaw and Nelson as the disciplinarians is showing...

if he can handle the success within the confines of the media, it will only be his lack of physical presence that will one day let him down....

it will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure of going low yesterday, today....

follows it up with 66 today.....the streak he is on is amazing (is why he reminds me of Miller)

....the look in his eyes reminds me of Jack and Tiger....his eyes tell you what he has inside

It's hardly over, but watching him 'will' the ball the way he wants so many more times than not is beyond impressive....

RE: OT: The Masters
now we are at 'Masters Sunday'....

who do you like....

after watching Spieth make two huge nervous mistakes on 17 and following that up with another with his approach into 18.....then making the inner-demon choice of balling up with that up-and-down....that was special and leads into the following.....

I'm going with Spieth to become the next Mickey Mantle of Americana.....he knows what will happen if he wins this....and he's from Tejas.....like Hogan, Nelson, and Crenshaw.....he's just like them....

good luck inside your head today Jordan.....you have it in you

Masters Sunday....it brings out the 'best' that is relative to humanity and sport....

RE: OT: The Masters
forgive me for getting off topic....but this one I cannot help but laugh at....

Fowler has become the princess (Leo) Di(Caprio) of the tour.....

the finale is absolutely a commercial 'custom fit' classic....

RE: OT: The Masters
it ain't over just yet....but what Spieth is doing is unparallelled since Tiger...

moving forward, this kid is going to be fun to watch just like Johnny was....

he's battling demons right now after birdieing #10 and blowing his drive right on #11....

Phil is at #12 at -12.....could it be another roaring sunday....probably not....

I love this event.....is the perfect battle of wits and soul

America just found the Mickey of Mantle...once again....

and this guy can do it moving forward...no bubba cry-baby moments....

walking back out on the 18th green and applauding the patrons typified his ability to appreciate the moment.....

this guy is special.....

That whole Butler Cabin montage (complete with camera zoom-in on Jordan at the end) is one of the more awkward award presentations in all of sports.
