I like that we're putting aluminum rails in the bowl. Any other changes like that to existing facilities? New benches, seats, etc.? I know a lot of the seats in and around the student/band sections are broken.
Anyone hear anything about the food? I stressed to Bohn when I talked to him that we needed Cincinnati foods and Cincinnati beers. Make a trip to Nippert a Cincy experience.
Please don't reinstall those red plastic "seats" we had in our row (last) of section 119. We'd rather have the aluminum bench than those pieces of crap. We can bring our own seat cushions instead.
Feel free to put the cost savings towards Doss' gold toilet.

Absolutely. This isn't a perfect comparison, but I'm a season ticket holder for the Portland Timbers, a MLS soccer team. They have a slightly smaller stadium (24,000) with similar crowd flow and design issues as Nippert. When they upgraded a few years ago, the changes that had the most positive response were in the creative use of local food and beer in the venue. They do serve mostly local (Bridgeport) beers in the big stands, but they also bring in food carts from some of the more popular places in town. They're temporary stands, and work quite well within the confines of the stadium. There's also a temporary stand with small, local breweries. As season ticket holders, we vote on the beers (top four vote getters are served) on a quarterly basis (five or so games per quarter) that the stand will serve. It's a great participatory model, and I get to drink some damn fine IPAs at each match. Cincinnati has some great new breweries and food (Eli's Barbeque, for example, would translate well) that would really enhance the Nippert experience.

Nope, I don't go to a football stadium to eat "premium food". But I'd sure as hell prefer a Kroeger and Sons Brat piled with kraut with a Servatti's pretzel and Moerlein OTR over a hotdog and some nachos with a bud light.

i was at the Bearcat Faithful luncheon a few weeks back and Bohn stressed Nippert will not be finished product this fall. They are looking at doing other things but it will probably be a year out (ie. New sound system, scoreboard).
He mentioned the seat covers Jackie described above. Weather resistent- supposed to be real nice.

Tommy, are they going to do something to fix the bricks between Sheakley Lawn and the tennis courts? Last time I walked down there it looked like a lot of that walkway has been damaged by construction traffic.

That walkway was bad before they started. I think the sand underneath settled weird.

Yes. Things like that will be cleaned-up/fixed when the project is nearing completion and there won't be further damage.
It's great to see the work on the east side happening with more concessions and restrooms and just more space to move around with the pavilion people not having to go down to the lower level to take care of business. I realize that the west side addition is the focus of the project and where the premium seats and boxes are, but over half the crowd sits on the east side. These changes will really help with the crowd flow and improve upon the old east side fluster cluck that was the game day experience for most of us sitting over there.
At the Military Bowl they had Copa Di Vino, a packaged wine in a glass with a peal off lid. The stuff was worse than Box Wine. It was really really bad. I hope they have something better in the Club and Suite areas. Doesn't have to be Opus One but Rodney Strong, KJ, Chateau St. Michelle, etc. would be nice.
