If the proposal for deregulating FB champ game requirements is approved, our schools will no longer have to play x number of games vs a set of schools. No more divisions means C-USA schools may want to consider playing 3 permanent rivals (just an example) and then rotate the other schools in the conference onto the schedule more frequently.

As an example, if UTEP played the other 3 Texas schools every year and then played 5 of the other 10 in 2016, UTEP could then play the remaining 5 in 2017. Back and forth like that would make sure each school remains on everyone's schedule at least every other year. This is with a 14 school conference.

That's an interesting proposal. I kind of like that: 3 permanent rivals and 5 in even years and 5 in odd years.

If I were picking for Marshall, it would be tough to select, but I would pick WKU and ODU, for sure, and have a tough time selecting from among USM, MTSU, and Charlotte. But I'd still want a Florida team every year, too.

Then pick two top teams to play off in CCG.

Not bad

As long that ODU and UNCC are off our schedule for good, I'm all for it

Scared of what? We could have easily dropped 100 on ODU this year and we should hit a 70 spot on UNCC without even trying. Atleast ODU was somewhat competitive against 1AA schools before they joined

That's assuming that the two programs are in the same constant state. Programs evolve and devolve. Players are replaced, both good and bad. If they didn't, watching sports wouldn't be interesting and you would be right in assuming Marshall would whoop ODU every year. But that's not the case.

Marshall was 5-7 during two of the last 5 seasons. We all have highs and lows. There is no dominant football program in CUSA.

If we aren't going to have devisions, I would rather we simply play everyone on a "round robin " rotation basis. With permanent rivals, it wouldn't be fair.

For example. It wouldn't be fair for someone to have to play Louisiana Tech and Western Kentucky and Marshall every year when someone else gets to play ODU, Charolette, and Southern Miss every year.

My 4 would be

MUTS
Marshall
@FAU or FIU either one doesn't matter
S. Miss

I would always want a game @Rice every 3 years
I would always want a game @UTSA every 3 years
I would always want a game @ODU every 3 years

I get your logic, but taking away permanent regional rivals kinda defeats the purpose of being in CUSA. It would basically be a crap shoot schedule every year for ticket holders and no standard bearing rivalries would be formed. College football isn't any fun with out a little back story like "Rivalry in Dixie" or the "Hate fest" that UTSA and Tech display every year. I have come to look forward to the epic flame wars that ensue after every TECH-UTSA game. If you were to tell a fan base that they would only get that game at home every 4 to 5 years, people wouldn't be very excited.

My preference is go give wkcc back to the Sun Belt and go to 12.

From there, I would want FAU or FIU (have to be in Fla), Marshall and USM (with the assumption they will get their mojo back).

I like your four. Would rank them as follows:

1. Southern Miss
2. Rice
3. UNT
4. UTSA

I would probably go for Marshall before UTEP, WKU, or MTSU... the rest I would be ok with on some rotation, but these 8 teams would make for my ideal schedule every year out of the 13 we currently have.

I don't really have any interest in playing the Eastern schools. We have no shared history.
