Huskies to be paid $900K to play OSU - less than WMU
This is the first time i have seen the exact amount NIU will be paid to play at OSU compared to the other teams (sorry if this has been posted before). Unfortunately we are getting paid less then Hawaii and WMU. Why would that happen?

More of a chance they lose to us?
Not as quite a bodybag game?

They get to see PJ in person! Worth an extra $100K.

Games likely were put on schedule at different times. Guessing NIU had this scheduled 6-12 months before wmu set their date. Or Ohio St. had very limited options for that date and wmu had a little more leverage and got more $$$

These payouts actually generally are based on quality opponent. You pay more for the more certain win.

Yes, the power of PJ Fleck with the strength of a thousand field mice helped get an extra $100k. It's probably because we're bringing our DJ (yes, we have a DJ that PJ brought in to our stadium).

What's worse is that OSU gets only $350k to go to VaTech - lol. So in the end, OSU is the loser in road OOC games.

So if Alabama came to the horseshoe, Ohio State would pay them $1.25? :)

I get what you're trying to say but you're still wrong.

Not an apples to apples. Bama would do a home and home.

It's common that the worse the opponent in the is P5 "automatic" win the higher the good team pays to "guarantee" a win.

Not always the case but I'd say the majority of the times that's the case. Id be willing to bet WMU got bigger pay days vs pUrdue and iowa than NIU did. Granted NIU had a "home and home" that wasnt a home game.

NIU also won both games where WMU got hammered and then lost.

Someone explain to me why we have to pay Murray St. 395k? That just doesn't add up. Game will be a huge money loser.

How else do you think Murray St agreed to play us? FCS teams don't travel to play FBS schools unless they receive some sort of pay day.

And to think this whole play a FCS team every year even though we were good thing was seen as a good idea by our previous AD.

I hope in the future these FCS games only happen in a last min emergency because of a cancellation by another team.
