Why do we even bother to care about college sports?
The last 15 minutes of the national championship is pretty damning to college basketball's legitimacy. The refs have 100x more control over a game's outcome in basketball than any other sports.
Don't get me wrong, Wisconsin crumbled down the stretch. The only player in red that played like he didn't have female genitalia was Frank, and he was gassed.
Anyone who watched this garbage knows no team was beating Duke and the refs tonight.
Blue teams must win!

RE: Why do we even bother to care about college sports?
Duke did play excellent defense down the stretch, however IMO there were two crucial non-calls late in the game which should have resulted in Wisconsin possessions but instead resulted in Duke scores. Winslow clearly stepped out of bounds under the Duke basket, yet it was not called. On the very next Badgers possession his hand was the last to touch the ball before it went out, yet Duke was awarded the ball. That said, there is no way to know how those calls being made would have changed the outcome.

I was disappointed in Sam Dekker's performance tonight. He disappeared in the 2nd half.
Now I'm just wondering how long it will take for Wisconsin fans to burn down Madison during the post game celebration.

The more I see of the direction of college sports, the more fond I become of professional wrestling.

the refs sucked. They just aren't at the same level as the players. The refs struggled to make their high school teams as seniors, there is absolutely no reason why these guys should step foot on the court.

It's pretty bad when NASCAR officiating has more credibility than NCAA basketball refs.

Someone probably didn't want the BIG to win both football and basketball national championships. Therefore Wisconsin had to get jobbed.

I don't do the ref thingy, but the self destructive nascar biz model is actually something the networks might want to look at...
I have zero sympathy for anything regarding college athletics at this point....
greed and bias doesn't work in my world....

RE: Why do we even bother to care about college sports?
The refs missed to crucial calls down the stretch that caused a 5 point swing.
The first one was when Duke bounds the ball out of bounce. It wasn't called and they scored 2 points on that possession.
The second was when Duke knocked the ball out of bounce. They reviewed it and you could clearly see that Duke knocked it out but they gave the ball to Duke anyway. On that possession, Duke scored a 3 pointer.
Very disappointing.

Yes there were a few no call against Duke but I guess the refs were told to favor them. In games of this magnitude I think that there should be refs from the European pro leagues who have no favorites. Hopefully, anyway.

Why do we even bother to care about college sports?
Missed a foot on the line that led to an and 1.
Missed the finger tip out of bounds.
Every charge/block call.
Grayson Allen continuously stiff arms his way to and 1 opportunities.
Winslow elbows defender in gave on the way to and 1.
Numerous hand checks go uncalled.
What else would you have to see in order to infer intentional bias? A WWE logo in the corner?

.
Very well put, logically speaking Wisconsin did not get every bad call but these noted seemed to stand out. There was one play were Tyus Jones basically ran into his defender and actually got the call on the defender when he initiated the contact. Also, as someone else mentioned, seems like a lot of players get away with using your free arm to push away forcefully not just hold off the defender but literally push them away and seldom are they called for the offensive foul.
