When did this turn into a Memphis Message Board? Did I miss a meeting or something?

Look at it this way if you would like--two out of three Ncaa national basketball champions the past 3 years came from the AAC. It was easier for Memphis to win against Cusa teams for the conference championship than it was for Memphis to win against AAC teams.
I'm not knocking Cusa 2.0, just that the AAC has more competitive teams.

Just a friendly reminder, UL is gone. That accomplishment had little to nothing to do with the AAC. Most of those guys signed on to play GTown, Pitt and Cuse under Pitino.

Thanks for the friendly reminder. Louisville left the AAC? I had no idea.
The reasons for Louisville's accomplishment as national champs in 2012-2013, what conference they were in, or what schools the Louisville players signed on to play against is completely irrelevant to the fact that Louisville played in the AAC the first year Memphis was in that conference.
My point is that I think it's fair to say that the level of conference play in the AAC is higher than it was in Cusa 2.0 and Louisville certainly played a role in that. The 2014 tourney championship game featured Louisville v. UConn--defending national champs v. future national champs. Even with their departure imho the conference is a far more competitive conference--at least at the top half. And that is one reason imho why Pastner is flailing around.
In Cusa 1.0, Memphis under Calipari never won a conference championship. Memphis was playing against Louisville, Cincy, Marquette, DePaul, Charlotte, and St. Louis.
In Cusa 2.0, after those teams left, Memphis won every championship from 2006 to 2013 except in 2010.

Yes, AAC has a few more competitive teams. Playing Cinci and UConn is a great thing. That is different than saying CUSA 2.0 was considerably weaker than the AAC.

At one point in 2014, the conference had 5 teams ranked in the top 25. And Pastner doesn't seem to be able to cut it going up against that on a consistent level. Though he beat Louisville, he was swept by Cincy and UConn.
Even with their departure imho the conference is a more competitive conference. And that is one reason imho why Pastner is flailing around.

In Cusa 2.0, after those teams left, what happened? Memphis won every regular season or tourney championship from 2006 to 2013 except in 2010.

Sorry. We have many posters on our Board blinded by their hatred of Pastner and it creates discord among Tiger fans that inappropriately bleeds over here.
I recommend the Mods remove the posts (including mine).

Damn ODUDrunkard13, you rattled Cotton1991 so much that he had to quote and reply to your post TWICE.
