I hate to get down and dirty in the whole thing and be a part of devolving the political discourse but the world, and the political world in particular, will be a better place when Harry, and those who behave like him die.

Couldn't Romney take legal action against Reid? That seems like a pretty slanderous statement to me, and if Romney is not running he doesn't have to worry about how suing Reid would be presented in the media.

It's hard, really hard. Mitt is a public figure so he would have to prove malice, which is nearly impossible.

Apparently political party is the stronger bond than both being Mormon.

Get this, things that are said on the floor of the house and Senate are protected speech. Lawyer Princess Reid knew this. Reid could have taken the podium and said he had a video of Romney having sex with his dog, and there would be nothing anyone could do about it.

Was it ever proven that Reid in fact lied?

Yea, then the argument started about how he paid a lower percentage than others.

The argument just shifted and Reid's lie was forgotten.

Pretty much everybody accepts that this was a low stunt pulled by Reid, even among those on the extreme left.

Reid lied, it was proven long ago. What's new is that Reid admitted that as long as Obama won, then so what?

I wonder if censure by the Senate might be a more appropriate action. Completely useless and irrelevant, but appropriate.

No, what any senator or representative says on the floor in congress is protected speech and not subject to lawsuit. Reid basically lied knowing that 1) it was a lie and 2) he could not be sued for it. That is what makes it so especially reprehensible conduct.

The claim was not originally made on the Floor. It was done in an interview and then later repeated on the Senate Floor.

The ends justifies the means. There are no rules on the left. The Golden Rule is to advance the cause of socialism, no matter what it takes.

Islam is the same way ... there are no rules when one is trying to expand Islam's reach.

I believe it was couched as somebody told him. All he would have to do is to produce the person who told him and he could use the truth as a defense. I said somebody told me, here is the person who told me.

I am not saying he can sue. In my opinion he can't.

I am just saying that the claim was not made originally on the Senate floor so that train of thought isn't useful to the conversation.

Speaks volumes about the character of Obama's inner circle which Reid is part of. It also shows how nasty Chicago politics can get.

The end justifies the means. All that matters is winning and it ia sickening.
