I think the question is, where on our radar is he? I suspect he's on there, but on the margins and at the level of interest only.

A tid bit of info, Forbes follows Good's father on Twitter. IMO, he's too small and not quick enough like Jalen to warrant a scholly at the D1 level. The players have played pick up with him and seem impressed so we will see. I would love to see him be a preferred walk-on but not a Bartow type walk-on with no chance of playing.

Spot-on. I also think that Good would struggle mightily on the defensive end against D1 guards. Still, I'd like to see him at ETSU, but as a walk-on.

RE: Patrick Good
Why don't we wait and see what kind of senior season the kid has?

If he scores 30 PPG, is it really that impressive considering how the talent level is locally now?

I am not a college scout, let the kid finish up his AAU season (which I hear he is playing pretty well) play his senior season and see how it plays out. I don't care one way or another. Forbes and staff will have plenty of time to watch him play if they want to.

RE: Patrick Good
By the time he finishes his senior year he will be committed to someone. We have no chance of getting him as a walk-on. The high school coaches in the area seem to think that ETSU would be lucky to get him and that he is a higher prospect than us.

I have never wanted to sign a local kid just for the sake of signing a local kid. I do not think that this area produces many local prospects at all that are able to play Division 1. But this is probably the best that has come from this area in several years and he will get a Division 1 scholarship. I do think that if we have a division 1 caliber player in this area we can't look over him simply because he plays against lower level competition. That is what mid-majors do- take chances on kids that have high production on lower levels of competition. We could swing and miss and waste a scholarship (we should be used to that), but if he pans out it will be great for attendance, etc.

I would say Shannon Hale at Alabama would probably claim that spot ATM.

Jalyen Allen is at Wofford and played in all 35 games averaged 18 minutes a game. He is a local player that could have certainly contributed last year and for the next 3 years.

Yes I know both left Science Hill and played for another team their senior season but Hale had been offered by Alabama before he left.

I'll take that bet. I'm not hating on the kid. Rather I just see him going D2 or NAIA.
