RE: Rice vs MTSU - Sunday Game
B5 (following the audio feed):

Teykl walks on 3-2 pitch.

Taylor says he's hit by 1-1 pitch ... but ump doesn't allow it, despite "high ricochet" (according to JP) ... called a swing/foul. Foul ... then 3rd strike tipped into catcher's mitt.

Lewis batting for Gray: Walks on a 3-1 pitch, low. Two on, one out.

Kopycinski: First pitch hit off light tower. Low. Low-inside. Ball ... 3-1 count. Walk! Bases loaded for Chandler!

(JP says MT pitcher Foriest is usually a late-inning, short-term reliever ... except for one 5-inning relief appearance.)

Chandler: Second-pitch 6-4-3 DP ends the inning without the Owls scoring any runs. Grrr.

7-0, Rice, after 5.

Between innings, a child is trying to slide an Oreo from his forehead to his mouth. Sounds difficult.

T7: Ditman in to pitch. Stephens had 8 Ks, no walks ... 3 hits and no runs allowed. WTG, Jordan!

Allen: Wiffs on 1-2 pitch.
Adkins: First-pitch lineout to Chandler in center.
Ingold: 0-1 pitch smashed to Stainback, knocks him down. Gets up and makes the 4-3 putout.

7-0, Rice ... heading to B7.

Chandler: Ball low, rolled to 2nd ... 4-3.

Stainback: low & away, "raps one in the air into left-center ... a two-out double."

Reeves: 1-2: "Hard ground ball ... down the left-field line!" Double. Stainback scores; Byrd to 3rd. 8-0, Rice.

Warren: First-pitch single ... 2 RBI .. Run-rule! Owls win, 10-zip!

Bad news is we're still in third place.
Good news is the two teams ahead of us are now each a half-game behind us :)

Rice (11-4) is now solidly in 3rd place in the C-USA standings, just behind the 9-3 Middle Tennessee and Florida Atlantic. (UTSA is 4th at 7-5; USM is 6-5 and FIU, ODU & WKU are tied at 6-6.)

Monday is WG's birthday. JP promises something special on the radio show.
Tuesday vs A&M (6:35 @Blue Bell/College Station)
Next weekend @UAB.

Go Owls!!
