RE: Great article from the Atlantic on Pizza and Gay Marriage
In that case you fail to see Jesus acting as a Christian when he attacked the money changers, or rebuked the Pharisees, or when his disciples rebuked and called out sinners and liars and Blasphemers throughout the entire New Testament.
Have you not EVER read the words of Paul?
I am acting EXACTLY like a Christian should by calling out blasphemers of the Word of God, PARTICULARLY WHEN A SUPPOSED CHRISTIAN POTUS DOES SO. I don't blaspheme the Word of God so I don't have to worry about being a hypocrite on this issue. Calling out his Blasphemy IS showing love. I love my fellow man enough to tell them he is lying about the Word of God, and I am not scared to stand up FOR MY LORD AND SAVIOR, even when people like you want to pressure or shame me from doing so. THAT is love.
1 Corinthians 5:11-13
But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.
12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?
13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”
2 John 1:9-10
Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;
Titus 3:10
Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition,
2 Timothy 3:1-5
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
1 Timothy 1:18-20
This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, 20 of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme
2 Thessalonians 3:14
And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed.
You should try reading the words of Paul throughout the NT. He had no issues putting ignorance and sin in its place when the Churches were wrong. He had no problem putting Peter in his place either.
One of us has clearly read the Bible, the other hasn't and is upset because someone called out their politician for Blaspheming the Word of God.
