Playoff Positioning updated 4-5
Updated 4-4 after San Antonio and Grizz win last night.

This is a battle. Spurs are going to have to have help by all of the other teams losing to gain position in seeding. The Grizz could easily finish 5th which wouldn't be so bad since they would play Portland but would have to play Golden State in the next round.

Winning all the remaining games:
Rockets - 58-24
Grizzles - 58-24
Clippers - 56-26
Spurs - 56-26

Likely to win based on being probably favorite
Rockets - 56-26 (2nd or 3rd playing Spurs or Mavs)
Clippers - 56-26 (2nd or 3rd playing Spurs or Mavs)
Grizzlies - 55-27 (5th playing Portland)
Spurs - 54-28 (6th playing Rockets or Clippers)

Rockets - 52-24
6 games remaining
3 road games
3 playoff teams
1 back to back
Likely 4-2, Likely record 56-26
Schedule:
Sunday, April 5th - at OKC (L)
Wed, April 8th - at San Antonio (L)
Friday, April 10 - San Antonio (W)
Sunday, April 12 - New Orleans (W)
Monday, April 13 - at Charlotte (W)
Wed, April 15 - Utah (W)

Grizzlies - 52-25
5 games remaining
3 road games
2 playoff teams
1 back to backs
Likely 4-3, Likely record 55-27
Schedule:
Friday, April 3 - OKC (W) 100-94
Saturday, April 4 - Washington (W) (L) 92-83
Wed, April 8 - New Orleans (W)
Friday, April 10 - at Utah (L)
Saturday, April 11 - at Clippers (L)
Monday, April 13 - at Golden State (L)
Wed, April 15 - Indiana (W)

Clippers - 50-26
6 games remaining
3 road games (one is against the Lakers so doesn't really count)
1 against playoff team
1 back to back
Likely 6-0, Likely 56-26 (2nd or 3rd playing Spurs or Mavs)
Schedule:
Saturday, April 4 - at Denver (W)
Sunday, April 5 - Lakers (W)
Tuesday, April 7 - Lakers (W)
Saturday, April 11 - Grizzlies (W)
Monday, April 13 - Denver (W)
Tuesday, April 14 - at Phoenix (W)

Spurs - 50-26
6 games remaining
3 road games
4 against playoff teams
1 back to back
Likely 5-2, Likely 54-28
Schedule:
Friday, April 3 - Denver (W) 123-93
Sunday, April 5 - Golden State (L)
Tuesday, April 7 - at OKC (W)
Wed, April 8 - Houston (W)
Friday, April 10 - at Houston (L)

Excellent. Thanks for putting this together. If this scenario holds, Grizz at 5th seed would still have homecourt over Portland due to a better record. Pick your poison - face Spurs in 1st round or Warriors in 2nd. Yikes.

2nd or 5th, stay away from 3rd. It should be interesting to see if other teams tank games to try and avoid the 3rd seed assuming the Spurs are 6th.

If we don't stay in second, fifth is definitely better. I would rather face Golden State in the second round and then Spurs in the finals anyway.

RE: Playoff Positioning
I was working on a post like this - ya beat me to it! Thanks, great breakdown.

I'd rather play SA rather than GS, FWIW. And yes, I realize how that sounds...

Give me the Warriors over the Spurs. Steve Kerr and co. would be in for a very unpleasant surprise if they faced us in the second round.

I think spurs will get the 4/5 seed and clippers fall to 6th

Sleepwalking against OKC. I think it's time to pack it in until the playoffs and angle for the 5 seed. The team is out of gas.

Turning it off... we'll be down 20 at halftime. Clearly no one on this team gives a damn about the regular season anymore. How far can we sink?

Golden State gets the #1 seed and has to go thru OKC and San Antonio to get to the finals.

Maybe I overreacted a bit. But I think we should shut down Conley until the playoffs. He obviously isn't right. Last year, he played injured against OKC and shot 11% from 3 for the series. Eleven percent.

We need him reasonably healthy or we aren't going anywhere.

Mike had a very tough matchup to start the game and got in foul trouble early. Once we made the adjustment Conley played really well.

He ended with 13 7 5 and 0 turnovers. That's a pretty solid game.

On the predictions I don't see them losing both games to the clippers and warriors. Golden State will probably be resting Curry, Klay, Green. Doubt the Grizzlies will be resting

RE: Playoff Positioning updated 4-5
Updated 4-5.

Grizzlies in 3rd 1/2 game behind Houston.
-1 game ahead of the Clippers
-1-1/2 games ahead of the Blazers and Spurs

So dropping to 6th is not out of the question with games like last night.
