Smart took the best available p5 program available while His stock is still very high. P5 is also the future growth in college Basketball as there is a coming separation from G5 Programs. Not surprising as thats where the TV money is leaning these days.

Some coaches it's not about the money- and yes in the business some schools are different - Texas is one of weathiest athletic schools in the country - it's not coach salary but money for maximum number of support staffs - access to private planes off recruitig and potential new arena - something that schools like vcu who had down a wonderful program cannot match - pay wise vcu was close but it was more
