RE: Spring Game
Presser from the Spring Game, which includes interviews with Creighton, Bell, and O'Connor: http://emueagles.com/news/2015/4/4/EGG_0...h=football
Sounds like O'Connor has been out for about two weeks, which is disappointing. He's an experienced playmaker, though. I'm sure he'll be ready to roll come Sept. 5th. Also, Reggie agrees with me that the quick whistles on his runs were disappointing. He probably could have ran for 100+ total and another TD! I was dying to see him turn the burners on!

RE: Spring Game
Couple of names I forgot to mention:
Clay Dawson (SR Linebacker) is listed at 6'4 222, but he looks and plays like 6'6 265. Good surprise from that spot. RS Frosh Kyle Rachwal also was impressive from LB, making a couple tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. We've got real depth at LB. Also, Tyrie Mack looked good at DB too. Probable starter.

RE: Spring Game
Thanks Ken and Frank, sounds the defense is more familiar with the schemes and quicker to react. I expect the freshmen in the fall to have a big impact on the WR spot and I'm beginning to believe we may see one true frosh starter on the OL. Backup TE will be interesting.

RE: Spring Game
I think that's accurate, 79. The defense as a whole knew exactly where each player needed to be in the scheme before the ball was snapped. That wasn't always the case with the offense.
The freshman WRs will certainly get some playing time. I expect to see guys like Kezio Snelling and Braylin Collins to get a chance at the starting roster. Reggie also mentioned the Indiana transfer Kevin Davis as a favorite target of his, though he was out for the Spring Game yesterday. He was a 3-star recruit coming out of high school, with offers from Arkansas, Cinci, Purdue, and some MAC teams. I'm anxious to see what he's got.
Cody Tuttle, the JUCO transfer, is another guy I think has a lot of potential at the WR/TE flex. We also have big 6'5 Bryce Kemp and 6'7 Danny Annee in the incoming class as TEs. There will certainly be some interesting battles in the depth chart for those spots.

I had forgotten all about Kevin Davis. Would've been nice if he could have played on Saturday, but it's nice hearing that he's built a rapport with Reggie. We absolutely need another WR to step up alongside Creel...it's hard for a QB to succeed when no one gets open. I hate putting pressure on true freshmen, but it would be huge if either Snelling or Collins can be contributors right away.

I know generally one does not like to see a lot of freshmen starting, but I must say that this WR class of 2015 is very talented and more importantly are getting physically prepared every day with strict workout plan. Mentally, the whole group is use to winning and like competing. I would say this really goes for the whole class

That is good. WRs, as a position, can play early (compared to say OL, DL, QB, etc.).
There are some positions, e.g., WR, which will look very, very different in 2015 than 2014.

Exactly. Skill position guys are definitely more likely to make an immediate impact. Even at tight end...I still remember Tyreese Russell's freshman year when he had that ridiculous catch at NIU.
This freshman class has several skill players that could get time. I'd still redshirt all of the linemen (on both sides of the ball), unless they have college-ready strength/bodies already. When size and strength are literally the most important attributes of the position, it's best to take time to prepare them.
