Not a bad list, but I think any sportswriter who says "The hire of Don Treadwell as the team's offensive play-caller should pay dividends..." should have their credentials revoked and be reassigned to the mail room. Someone clearly didn't do any research on that part of the article.

the top 3-4 are pretty obvious. Virginia, Miami, Illinois, and Hawaii. I think the sleeper is Ferentz at #9- just think it's probably time for a change there. What say you h1?

I wouldn't say that. There are plenty of examples of coaches who were great coordinators and horrible head coaches. Tommy West, Norm Chow, Lane Kiffin, and Greg Robinson are some examples.

It still blows my mind that Kevin Wilson has not been fired yet. No winning seasons in 4 years. Why does he still have a job?

Charlie Weis was great when he had Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. But I bet there are many OC's who would succeed with Belichick & Brady.

ND has a pretty good coach now.

I agree with that statement in general, but Treadwell was mediocre at best when he was the OC at MSU. As a play-caller he's abysmal, he literally ran a QB draw on 4th and 20 (along with dozens of other plays that made you want to impale yourself). If you watched us in 2013 you'd agree with me that the best place for him is as a position coach in the MAC, and I feel bad for saying that cause he's a loyal Miami alum and a nice guy overall. He's simply not fit to be a major coach at the Division I level.

Kirk Ferentz. What a crappy coach. Iowa doesn't need an expensive coach to be average.

Darrell Hazell will most likely be on this list next season.
