Quick side note to this. This will be the final year in which the SBC plays on Easter Sunday. Beginning next year, these will be Thursday-Saturday series.

As long as I've followed TXST baseball they had never played Easter Sunday. Series has been Thurs-Sat except last year in the SBC. Maybe a little Harrington influence?

Harrington is part of it. Robicheaux, Harrington, Raffo, and Hennon were all in favor of playing Thursday-Saturday. One of the things that Raffo mentioned is that we have a different dymanic of coaches in the SBC now, many of which get along really well. It's led to a lot of agreements that never happened in previous years.

Easter is a tricky weekend in the SBC. It was always divided among coaches, and you saw that with scheduling. Better drawing teams like South Alabama, Troy, and the Cajuns rarely ever played at home on Easter Sunday Weekend. (Cajuns getting the short end of the stick this year may have helped this along. Someone seems to get it every year of the top tier programs) Those home series were always given to the teams who struggled to draw well. There were a lot unhappy with that arrangement. (I think AState and UALR have hosted every Easter for something like the last 10 years)

Robe has been pushing the "no baseball on Easter" deal for many years now. With the new adds in the SBC, including you guys, I think the idea gained a lot more steam over the last few years.
