I've heard good things about Laytwan Porter, and the rest of the recruits look pretty good.

247 has Toledo ranked #118, but only lists 2 of the 5 commits. Besides
the class of 5(2 of the 3 not listed are Top 15 players in Indiana) , the Rockets have another 2 schollies open to fill.

It's a really good/great class on paper. We'll see if it translates to the court.

In our hearts, minds, and souls, we all know that Toledo has the #1 recruiting class. Always has and always will.

Il Prepbullseye: DePaul should look at NIU's Jon Borovich as AC candidate. Played key role in Huskies 2015 class--work is highly undervalued. Wow! I am pretty sure Frazier has met with Monty. Frazier probably said, don't come back to next years meeting without a winning record. Frazier may have also suggested new assistant coaches?

Is that implying that NIU got rid of Borovich? I took it as "DePaul should steal him from NIU"

I don't know but when you say, he is highly undervalued, you are saying that Monty and or NIU is undervaluing him.

If, Borovich is still a NIU coach? Why would Prepbullseye be talking about DePaul hiring him? Also, I believe taking a shot at Monty and or NIU.

Don't care if we do or don't. Just that the 247 rankings aren't real reliable.

we love recruiting rankings when it makes us look good, dismiss them as arbitrary when we are lowly ranked. which one is it?

If you are doing a decent job of recruiting then why shouldn't you like it? If you're doing a crap job of recruiting then why should you like it?
The reality is that a lot of times the rankings are somewhat arbitrary- based upon large recruiting classes vs medium sized or a Service's state's analyst is giving inflated numbers for an area that is not known for turning out a lot of FB talent.

I believe we were the #2 class this year in the MAC for football. But again, MAC recruiting rankings are nearly impossible to get right because as was brought up earlier in this thread, football ratings are almost impossible to get right because there are just so damn many players signing to D-1 teams. Basketball classes on the other hand are much much smaller and somewhat easier to rank because the "experts" don't have to rate nearly as many players. with that said, I am still a firm believer that rankings are BS, and it comes down to getting the best talent you can, and then coaching them to perform at their highest level.

Wake me up when we do better than .500. Get me out of bed when we win the division. Make me get dressed when we win a championship.

Funny how some were calling for Montgomery to be fired a few weeks ago, and now he is probably signing the class that will have him leaving DeKalb soon for a promotion.

signing a talented class of players doesn't mean anything unless you can coach them to win games.
