Great stuff about TJ surgery and pitcher use

Quote:“With the landscape we have now in youth baseball with year-round baseball with multiple teams, our kids are not physically prepared to throw a baseball. They pitch too much and don’t throw enough. There is very little attention paid to recovery and very little to nutrition. Your kids are playing a sport of failure, coached by negative people in a mis-information environment.”

And another one bit the dust today-- Duke's ace and projected Top 5 pick, Matuella, out for the season with torn UCL; to have TJS next week.

And another-- Vandy RHP Hayden Stone, who has been resting a sore arm since opening weekend, is to undergo TJS later this week.

RE: Pitching
How is Jon Duplantier doing? I thought he would be ready to pitch by conference time.

No...last we heard, after MRI showed no ligament damage, was that he would rest until early April, and see how his shoulder felt at that time. I have no inside information on this one, but I'd be surprised if he's ready to pitch competitively before we return from Finals break; perhaps, the last week in April, if we're lucky.
