Could work if they tarped off entire upperdeck and was a Big 12 (Texas/Oklahoma Schools) vs. CUSA (NT, UTSA, UTEP, LT, Rice) or AAC (Houston, SMU, Tulsa) or Texas State.
Thats pathetic considering the number of Texas, LA and OK schools that are in the 2 leagues. Yup, that's why we're G5.
???
Might be the largest bowl game stadium out there. 100,000 is a lot of people bowl game would probably only be full if it was Texas vs. another public school in Texas like Houston, UTSA, UTEP, or North Texas.
And if the records were decent. I cannot imagine 100,000 paying and braving for a 6-6 vs. 6-6 matchup.
I wonder if Texas would even want to play in their own stadium for a bowl game? Nothing said bowling like staying home and playing another non-conference game, but does give another home game so thats good. If I was in that bowl game I would not want to be playing Texas there that would not be fair at all. Anyway probably end up being Louisiana Tech vs. SMU in front of 30,000.

Heck, I will gladly play ANY team in ANY bowl game.
Up vote.

I doubt it. That tactic only really works for Hawaii due to the geographical setup. Perhaps, if Boise State fell off the cliff for a decade and was finally bowl eligible, they wouldn't mind mashing potatoes in their Idaho bowl game, otherwise, unless a premium brand name rolled into Austin, I cannot see the Longhorns accepting a bid.
Plus, why would Texas risk losing to a G5 school in a bowl game in their own stadium? That is the Kansas-Wichita State situation x100.

RE: AAC Bowl Game in Austin?
New bowl in Austin is all about building the "American" brand outside it historical geographic area mainly what was the East coast, it's all about building the conference brand in mainly non-traditional areas of the country since the conference has gone national in geographic scope.
