I don't see him playing PG. They have Baker and Orris for next year and they're signing another PG in this class as well. I really hope Highsmith can get healthy at some point though. Even if he misses all of next year, it would be fun watching him and the class they have coming in play together.

Assuming the news about the Grey's leaving is true, NIU has one open scholarship for next year.

Returning scholarship players (7):
Armstead
Baker
Bowie
Highsmith
Iroegbu
Maric
Orris

Commits (5):
Wilson
Bradley
Key
Porter
Pauga

Walk-Ons (2):
DeHaan
Thomas

You can have 13 scholarship players, so they can still add one more guy.

You get 13 total schollys each year. Austin Pauga is also in this class. 6'5 guard who can flat out shoot the 3.

Right, not sure why rivals didn't have him listed.

Here's an article on our early signees if anyone needs a refresher like I did...lol.

http://www.niuhuskies.com/sports/m-baskb...14aab.html

And yeah, 13 scholarship players and 15 players total on the team.

So they have room for 1 more guy...lol.

Scary thought, 6 of NIU's top 10 players may be freshman.

According to the Hustlebelt article, Armstead's used up his eligibility, so there are 2 more scholarships available.

If Wilson needs help with his creative writing classes, fly me out to DeKalb and I'll help tutor him--I was an English major. :)

Though the AAU system sucks in a lot of ways, at least the elite players get to play against each other, so it's easier to see which players are "for real."

Missionfan73, wrong Armstead. Aaric Armstead will be a junior. Aaron Armstead is done.

I'm guessing they're going with a big for the last spot. Last I heard they were looking at a transfer.

Huskies should be better at every position except maybe SG. Johnson/Armstead scored 18pts combined a game. Wilson/Pauga-Porter, will become good players but may struggle as freshman.

Supremely scary to think where this team could be 2 years from now. A bright future would be the understatement of the year. DeKalb is now South Beach North

Ugh, you have to stop judging offense on just points scored. The offense was putrid in just about every category other than rebounding.

They have to get their shooting % across the board up and turnovers down if they want to make real improvements.

They got their shooting percentage up. They averaged one more turnover than their opponents. You must score pts. This team is half freshman. NIU has been a very slow footed team lately. That should change greatly with this group. It should help with their defense.

Wondering the same thing. Would be an enormous get for a very thin front line.

As for Wilson, obviously a great get if he can get the grades right.
