The Massey Rating (which is particularly unreliable for baseball because it does not account for the individual pitching match-up) gives us a 68% chance of winning the game.

Lamar has a good offense and has won 6 of it's last 8 games, but very difficult to evaluate given they've played one of the absolute weakest schedule in D-1 ball (currently #255 SoS).

No mention of when or if the rain-out game will be played.

Last year Lamar 10 - Rice 1, IIRC -- so let's stop that streak.

Otto getting the start (not sure I like this as we need him in the pen), and Reeves out of the lineup (hope he's not hurt)...

Rice lineup: Chandler cf, Stainback 2b, Byrd ss, Taylor dh, Warren rf, CTeykl 1b, Gray 3b, Williamson lf, Kopycinski c, Otto p. 6 pm start.

I'm hoping we'll see all-staff tonight, with no one going more than 2 - 3 innings, so that we're well rested for the important weekend series.

JC got hit in the back of the head several times this last weekend by USM batters on their swing's follow through. I was pretty sure someone had said he was out for the weekend with concussion like symptoms.

Ugh. Not what we need for this weekend's critical series.

The Lamar radio guy just said that it looks doubtful that the game will be made up as the two school's schedules don't match up well.

Lamar pitcher has only 4 appearances for 4.2 innings, with a 11.57 ERA and ,455 BAA, 5 BBs, 3 Ks. If we can't hit him something is terribly wrong.

Chandler grounds out to 1B.
Stainback flied out to CF.
Byrd lined opposite field single turned into a triple by the LFer. Two outs.
Taylor struck out swinging on a ball 3.
Not the start I was hoping for.

Scoreless heading to the bottom of the first inning.

Chandler chases a deep fly for out 1. Fly to LF warning track for out 2. Walk. Great stop by Byrd and flip to 2nd for third out

My fault. The day we scored ten in the first we had "Boomstick" by no label brewery in their off label series while tailgating. I am having trouble remembering to get more to help the offense out...

I will defer to Frizzy. My feed is at least a batter behind.
