Not the prettiest overall, but it's still tick #20 in the W column.

Nice win. Leading RBI guy out of the lineup and on the road - I am thinking very workman like. Nice grind it out win. Some will say everything was against the dregs of their staff or was gifted. I say enjoy the win on your ride back to Houston.

Halfway there! 20-11. Not too shabby. If my math is correct, at this rate we'll end up 46-7. But somebody check that, please.

FAU gets a nice win, but mostly the mid weeks serves as further confirmation that CUSA is not very good this year.

RE: Rice at Lamar 6 PM
Well, that was cutting it close (understatement alert). Really poor, listless offensive performance against a bunch of sub-par pitchers for Lamar. Aside from the first inning on Saturday, this has been the story of our offense the past 3 weeks. Somehow, some way, it better find a way to break out of it's malaise, or we're going to be in big trouble.

Game Ball #1: Austin (and Nick) Orewiler (W, 4-0, 6.0 IP, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 BB, 6 Ks) with his best performance since the Stanford series, Week 3 of the season...and he was able to last long enough to preserve the bullpen for the weekend. Great outing.

Game Ball #2: Could have given it to Charlie Warren (1-2, 2 BBs, 2 SBs, run scored), but I'm giving it to Kirby Taylor (2-4, double, RBI) for hitting the game-winning double.

Game Ball #3: Matty "Ice" Ditman (Save #5, 0.2 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 BBs, 1 K) for closing the door and stranding the tying run.

This team needs to dig deep down, and find the focus, aggressiveness and energy for this weekend's all-important series vs. MTSU (who are not going to be intimidated after taking the series from us last year). Go Owls.

??? How is that? CUSA has actually played well mid-week with numerous wins against Top 25 competition.

If anyone's interested, A&M Corpus just beat Texas 6-4.

They got the job done when they could have been looking ahead to the crucial conference series this weekend. Midweek road wins are always good games, no matter the box score.
