and Cincinnati...Great start in recruiting! Brohm Express is rolling right now...

So, I was wondering if this kid has a name? Yes, he is Dee Cain, 6'2" 215, 3* S. Looks like a solid pickup. Congrats!

Wow funny I overlooked that too...So used to seeing his name on WKU sites did not even notice his name not mentioned here...

RE: 2016 Football Commitments
FIU has 18 commitments so far after adding two today. The latest being Donavan Thompson, a 3-star starting LB from 3x defending class 6A State Champ Miami Central. He had offers from Arkansas, Oregon St., USF, and others. Coaching staff is putting in some serious work. A key recruiter has been Tim Harris Jr. who was the head coach for Booker T. Washington Senior High, which finished last season as the number 2 team in the nation. Coach Harris has many connections in South FL and has landed some nice verbals so far. Let's hope they stick.

Thanks! Tech and FIU have put together some impressive classes so far, but there is certainly a lot of time left for things to change. Let's hope these kids stick to their verbals.

Southern Miss is coming.

We have a 3* offensive lineman who's committed to Corado State coming in today for an official visit. We were the first team that offered him so I think we have a chance to flip him.

RE: 2016 Football Commitments
Glad to see some solid success in CUSA recruiting! This is what it takes for the conference as a whole to improve! La Tech is impressing already, Southern Miss is looking good and FIU is almost done! The Florida programs and Texas teams should always have an advantage with those amazing recruiting bases in their states, but Marshall also has a close proximity to Pennsylvania and the north east. I think MTSU has a built in advantage with Nashville and a large population state like Tennessee and finally ODU appears to have an opportunity to grow their recruiting base with the CUSA affiliation.

If this early season success is any indication, good things may on the horizon for CUSA football.

RE: 2016 Football Commitments
The thing about CUSA recruiting is that every school is close to a good recruiting area. The major southern recruiting states such as Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia are all close to majority of our programs. And then ODU and Marshall are close to Virginia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania which produce a lot of D1 talent. We are sitting on a goldmine of talent.

RE: 2016 Football Commitments
True, we are all in highly talented areas, however as you well know, we have to compete first with the P5 programs. As a Southern Miss fan, I have seen first hand how our program is belittled by the media in the shadow of the SEC. Kids read this and want to play in the SEC first. Southern Miss has to get kids that somehow aren't recruited by LSU, Ole Miss, Miss State, Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Arkansas. Not to mention other National teams like Texas, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Florida St and Nebraska. ALL of these teams have taken top recruits from Mississippi in recent years. Then throw in other P5 teams that come calling from time to time and its tough to get a lot of 3 star recruits, much less 4 star and above players. I'd guess teams like LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Va. Tech and the like land more 4 star players than the entirety of CUSA and the AAC combined!!

I'm not whining, it is what it is, we all have to deal with it, but lets face it, for the most part we get the left overs. Every now and then you get a Brett Favre or a Jamie Collins like we did, or like Marshall did with Randy Moss when a kid gets in trouble at another program and comes home, but in the end, the P5 schools now more than ever, have first choice of the recruits.

There is a glaring hole in Georgia which was the third best state for producing talent in the NFL draft this past year. And no, I am not saying you need to add Ga Southern. Just pointing that out. The addition of Ga Southern, Ga State and App St to FBS was not good for CUSA in terms of recruiting, but it will take a few years to see how it plays out. MTSU was hurt the most as they relied VERY heavily on Ga. Ga Southern has been landing solid recruits from central and north Fl now that we are FBS.

I think this goes down as a transfer but Tech has a commitment from 2015 Utah signee Alfred Smith 5'9" 184 3* WR from Destrehan, La...39th ranked player in the state of Louisiana. Offer list: Arizona State, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Ole Miss, West Virginia, Nebraska, Utah, Tulane, Alcorn State.

Too bad the hardship waiver doesn't exist anymore, might could've been eligible for this season. Sounds like a good guy to step into Trent Taylor's role in the future.
