Looks like it's a reality with Rick Barnes. And the lows continue for our team. So glad I gave up my tickets instead of pouring money down the drain.

It's always amazing to me that there are so many people with crystal balls who are also psychics and soothsayers who post on this board. We are truly blessed. Let me get this straight.....the coach who let TEXAS A&M recruit the #3 class in 2015....with them all being Texas players....is now going to be handling the recruiting for Tennessee and competing with other SEC schools, Cal, Donovan, Bruce Pearl (the greatest coach we never had) and Josh Pastner? Looks like a very clear formula for success. How many SEC titles to you think he will win.....my prediction....ZERO (and I don't need a crystal ball).

Barnes is a 60 yr old Pastner. Paid a lot, recruits some pretty good players, underachieves with them.

Gotta give him a little credit. Barnes did beat Calipari twice.

Barnes needed a change of scenery. I think he'll be pretty successful at Tennessee. He'll be able to get some great recruits there. Plus he already knows what it's like to be the head basketball coach at a football school first school.

I'm curious to see what he'll be able to do there.

Having said that, this is still a pointless thread.

Yeah it's another one of those timing things they lose their coach and he loses his job so I guess timing is everything. It's kinda like how we got Calipari and Auburn got Pearl. Just hope when we do decide to part ways something like this is available for us. It will be interesting to see who takes the Texas job and then how dominos fall after that. I guess it's between Shaka and Marshall or maybe Avery Johnson. It will be fun to watch regardless I pull for lots of chaos it may help us. I just want some good news about tiger basketball it has been awhile since anything good happened.

16/17 NCAA tournaments at Texas.

He's got 5 Sweet 16
3 Elite 8
1 Final Four

Amazing? No. But pretty decent.

It's so 2005...when the same types wanted Calipari fired for not making the NCAAs and averaging under 10k

I agree, they/you really need a new shtick.
