According to this article, Marshall has turned down Alabama.

"Reported to be alone atop Alabama's wish list, Marshall told the Tide that he is not interested in their opening, according to a report from Yahoo! on Saturday, a report that said Marshall is interested in the job at Texas."

Your article was from yesterday. Marshall is meeting with the Alabama AD in Wichita today.

"Though he's repeatedly said he's happy in Wichita, Marshall said last Tuesday he would listen to a "crazy offer" from Alabama."

I thought Marshall really wanted the Texas job? (makes sense - he'd still play both Kansas and Kansas State every year, so he could keep a lot of his recruiting contacts and just add new ones in Texas).

Definitely a tough call in adding any of them now... Something tells me take a step back b/c they won't be carrying their own weight.

With Wichita I'd be a lot more leery.

With VCU- Smart is the 3rd straight coach to take them to the NCAA tourney. Jeff Capel, then Anthony Grant, then Smart.

I wasn't trolling anyone. Just looking for honest opinions. You are not the only one who has been pro-BB only adds.

Let's also not pretend like Wichita State and VCU are on the same level as UCONN.

This is so true. I don't know why posters come up with this "if a successful coach leaves a mid major or G-5 program that school becomes less attractive" stuff.

Boise seems to be doing just fine without Petersen. Butler seems to be doing just fine without Stevens. Gonzaga seems to be doing just fine without Munson.

again, we act like we were happy Gtown, Nova, and the other Big East programs leaving was a good thing so we could have a total sports conference with everyone on the same page. Then go and add two mid major bb only programs?!?!?! LOL no.

Let's be real...Georgetown is the only one with national appeal. The rest are just good teams that few care about or want to watch on tv. VCU or Wichita State could replace many of them instantly. The small religious schools wanted to form their own league, so what is the point of that discussion?

I would take Nova and Marquette in a heartbeat too.

I hate XU with a passion but respect what they have done in the past 10 years or so.

Providence, SJU, S. Hall, Depaul...not so much

Marshall cancelled his radio show tonight.
