Does that mean the ACC is about to announce that games with Army will be considered P5 games?

(or did I already miss the announcement...?)

Wake already has a P5 scheduled every year... it's BC I'm starting to worry about!

The AD specifically mentioned ND and BYU along with the P5 conference teams.
NO mention of Army which makes the 6 game agreement puzzling?

Wake plays the academies a lot so I wouldn't read much into the Army deal.

Why in the world would you schedule NIU? To lose and lose badly to a MAC team from an area you don't recruit?

Air Force and Northern Illinois owe us return games from years ago.

Regardless, by 2021, Northern Illinois could be terrible or in a different conference. Wake should be better than any MAC team anyway.

I applaud Wake for scheduling Army. Many SU fans wish we did since they are so close and SU's relationship with Fort Drum.

Wake has all the P-5's it needs:

2015

09/03 - Elon
09/19 - at Army
09/26 - Indiana
11/14 - at Notre Dame

2016
09/17 - Delaware
09/24 - at Indiana
TBA - Army
TBA - Tulane

2017
09/23 - at Appalachian State
11/04 - at Notre Dame
TBA - Presbyterian
TBA - Utah State

2018
09/15 - Rice
11/17 - Notre Dame
TBA - Liberty
TBA - at Tulane

2019
09/14 - North Carolina
TBA - Elon
TBA - at Rice
TBA - Utah State

2020
09/12 - Appalachian State
09/19 - at Old Dominion
TBA - Notre Dame
TBA - Tulane

2021
09/11 - Old Dominion
09/25 - at North Carolina
TBA - at Army
TBA - Northern Illinois

2022
TBA - Air Force
TBA - Army
TBA - at Vanderbilt

2023
TBA - at Notre Dame
TBA - Vanderbilt

2024
09/14 - Ole Miss
TBA - at Army

2025
09/13 - at Ole Miss
TBA - Army

2026
09/12 - at Purdue
TBA - at Army

2027
09/04 - Purdue (or 9/2)

I'm glad to see them add Army - a winnable game every year that will not beat their kids to death. WF will never have the depth to play OOC world beaters as well as playing FSU, Clemson, Louisville, NC State and Syracuse in division along with a resurgent Duke.

I wish there was room for NC State to play Navy. Annapolis is a great trip, gets our face shown in Maryland now that UM is gone and the game will be noticed no matter how good or bad the Naval Academy is that year. However, with Navy joining the AAC and having OOC games set with ND, Army, and Air Force, they have just one game a year to jigger around.

Kudos to your AD in scheduling Liberty. It will be a great game for us and a FCS game for you, unless we get an FBS invite prior to that. Interest is high with the LU FB program now and one can expect that we will travel well to WS. Our last game at Wake was 20-17 so it should be a competitive game. Great to play another ACC school. Now win the championship the next 3 years so the LU players are as pumped as they can be. Until 2018.

Right after Army is considered a "Power Conference" opponent. Lol.

I'm not exactly trilled with Navy joining the AAC either. But the current AD said football scheduling was becoming more difficult. As evidenced by Army's continued independence, the move was simply a cash grab.

The ACC does NOT consider Army a "power" opponent - only the SEC does that.

Wake was historically bad the last time we played Liberty. Our rebuilding process better be far enough along that the next time we play that it should not be competitive. If it is then we need to find another opponent because that is not the purpose of that game.

Most Cuse fans are jealous of your Army games...that is a great series. You must go to a game at Michie

I was actually surprised to see another Liberty game. When we first played them in 2006, Danny Rocco, a former Wake football player, was the HC at Liberty, so it had an alumni tie, and was an easy win early on in what turned out to be Grobe's finest year at Wake.
