So I doing my usual in the morning before work...eating some cereal and catching the first few minutes of the TODAY show before heading to work. Then I see a commercial with Jay Leno and four kids that looked like they might be wearing NIU shirts...and they were! It was hard to tell at first because it looks like it was an old school huskie on the shirt and the shirts were partially covered.

I found this article about the commercial:

Apparently it was a commercial taped just for NBC.

What do you mean by "old school huskie on the shirt?" Are we talking the running Huskie? I didn't see what aired, but the links provided to the article have a picture with a student wearing the right logo (Huskie head with unique NIU lettering beneath it).

Did they have a segment about it or a commercial? Id like to watch that!

This was on some other local Chicago news a week (maybe more) or so ago. It was a "coming up" lead to commercial, but I didn't catch the rest. They did mention NIU.

Jay Leno's Garage is a web series. So I'm assuming they will be on an upcoming clip.

It looked like the running huskie but modified somewhat. That's why I was unsure at first at whether they were NIU shirts. They weren't wearing the shirts they have on in the article.

It was a Shell commercial, but the focus was on the car the students built.

Just saw the commercials on facebook/youtube. Very cool. I found 2 different versions and 1 shorter clip of the main one.

The commercial aired on last nights Chicago Fire episode. NIU shirts were great advertising.
