This past 2 weeks has been a major shot in the arm for me. I wasn't really looking forward to this year's (and future) basketball season, that has now changed. What I hope is that Forbes can really be successful, and bring us back to where we should be. Competing each year for season conference championships, tourney championships, and multiple trips to the NCAAs with a deep run now and then.

I am guessing they want us to enter on the side facing the parking garage on the floor (doors closest to State of Franklin) to attend this thing?

This guy is legit...hearing nothing but good things about him...even down here in Knoxville on sports radio they are applauding the hire

They streamed the press conference for when Bartow was fired. I would assume this will be streamed too. I'll be keeping an eye out for it on wjhl.com

Same here. I didn't even watch the last 4 games this year because I knew how it would end. Now I couldn't be more excited to start next season. Like everyone else I've heard nothing but good things about Forbes, in fact I've yet to hear a negative thing about the guy.

Bill Meade just came on the air.. his first story was final four.. second was UT basketball coach search.. third ETSU coach.. will broadcast live from the dome at 5:30.. says he thinks Forbes is a good hire..

It has been a number of years since I quit paying any real attention to recruiting or bothered to think about matchups with opposing teams as I knew that it really would make no difference in the final outcome of individual games or seasons. So many things to look forward to now.

Let us all pause and remember, and be oh-so-thankful, that Dr. Noland wasn't killed in the car wreck in Nov. 2013. He had already hired Sander by then (as a temp AD), but I would say that these recent moves re: bartow/Forbes might well have played out differently had Dr. Noland not still been with us. Things could have gone very, very wrong; very easily.
