Arizona State would be ok for a short time while transitioning into a new pac 12 hockey conference. As for the B1G hockey conference long term, I would love to someday see a line up of Connecticut (added as a full B1G member) Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Dakota (associate hockey only member), Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, Wisconsin.

I don't ever expect a UND assoc BIG membership, even though we are a hated rival of the Gophers and even the Badgers. If a PAC 12 hockey league ever forms, I think UND and Denver would be a part of it to give it some history and instant hockey credibility.

The BIG wants if not AAU at least top 100 research schools. Although ND is not the poor state it used to be, several billion would have to be poured into research and facilities.
