It does, but what seems odd is that the headquarters for the group is in NJ. Why not choose The Hartford for their insurance needs? You'd think there would be a discount available for staying with the home team.
The bigger oddity is why The Hartford is a stag and not a husky dog.
Not really. 'Hart' is derived from the old english word for deer or stag.
'Ford' is a shallow place good for crossing. Interesting that they went with Hart instead of Ford. A stag could not cross the Connecticut River in Hartford as there are no fords. While most can swim, they are often afraid to enter deep water for the first time, unlike most dogs who usually jump right in.
When was it founded? Sounds like some good propaganda to draw people to Hart"ford". Plenty of deer to hunt and a great place to be able to cross the river.
Both of those would be important "back in the day".

Damnnnnnn, definitely good propaganda. By the time you move to Hartford and find out you cant cross the river and all the deer have been hunted to near extinction in the area, you are exhausted and decide you can find a different way to make a living....such as fooling people with fear that they should give you their money just in case some future calamity should happen to them.
