They didn't play last summer. Cronin apparently strongly discourages it/won't allow it.

They are not forced to do it and with the new practice rules allowing coaches to have limited practice minutes in the summer it is pretty pointless. They get far more out of those sessions and in player led open gyms than they would ever get from the mess that is summer league. The coaches have never really been fans of the whole thing.
