Within reason, they were doing some sorties down by their beachhead. Cornhole set is a natural attractant to kids and adults alike.

For those who have not been to the Tap Room, its a big, open historic space that feels like it is a barrel storage vault several stories underground with the huge pillars, etc.. Lots of beer hall type tables. If mine were still little and I lived downtown, I'd definitely bring my kids along from time to time.

You know, even though the invite says "Tap Room," my brain said, "Lager House," which is an entirely different thing. I've never been to the Tap Room, and I think most people know the Lager House.

I think the Tap Room is where the Husman Potato Chip Company was once located in OTR.

Yep. Was a brewery, then husmans, now a brewery again. Crazy cool building. Tap Room was originally the hop drying room generations ago if I recall what they told me correctly.

My dad worked for Husman's, and on two or three occasions I went on tours of the plant. I don't remember it being cool, but as a kid I was more concerned about free potato chips.

I'll have to come down one weekend and do that Underground Tour that ends at the Tap Room.

After acquiring, they discovered a 2nd and 3rd sub basement for storage and lagering that Husman apparently never even knew about. Added like 20,000 extra square feet. Connects to other buildings like via catacombs. There could be more but they have not finished exploring all of it yet.

Tap Room is very unique. Very cool setting.

Trying to see if it is going to work out on my calendar. Might try and drag another one or two from the office if I can be persuasive enough.

Yep, they have grub. Great wurst and sausage boards, German style bar fare. They make it right behind to bar.
