Wouldn't that be a Scream if Gregg took the "Texas job" and later when Rick retires, He came to Louisville ?

Yup...when Pitino retires for me it is either Marshall or Shaka Smart -(If they are not at a Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Duke, UNC or UCLA)...for Louisville...

Tennessee might not be a stable situation. The athletic director might not be there much longer; he obviously failed to do proper due diligence on Tyndall before hiring him last year.

A blind man could have predicted this. With the resources available to Barnes at Texas, he should have them in the Final Four more often than not.

If he can lure Bruce Pearl back to Knoxville, they'll overlook that.

And frankly, I'm not at all certain some of the big boosters are smart enough to realize the due diligence angle. It's the good ole boy network in charge down here.

Austin Sports Talk has been talking about underachieving Rick Barnes for the past couple of years. When Mack was fired, everyone thought Rick would be out the door right behind him. IN 2014, he surprised everyone with a 3rd place finish in the Big XII, BXII Coach of the Year title, and a round of 32 appearance. The speculation was that it bought him one more year.

This year was a dumpster fire and nobody wanted to watch them. Horn FM figured that he would be fire the day after the tournament.

It turns out I may have been wrong about Tennessee. There is momentum building for a clean sweep. Both the AD and university president are in hot water, with some media members calling for both to be fired - or resign immediately.

At 60, if Barnes takes a year off, his options are going to be very limited.
